Hi!! (I go by the name Lena)

I am currently a student studying public/environmental health and I'm passionate about community/local outreach, nature preservation, biodiversity, regenerative agriculture, and sustainable food systems. I will be taking 1 online class Sept-Dec 2023.

I grew up in an urban area where my family had a small garden and I also volunteered at a local farm. Through these experiences, I really enjoyed getting in touch with nature and permaculture practices.

In my free time I like to draw/paint, explore new places, go hiking/be outside, listen to music, and connect with people and animals. I also enjoy cooking and baking new recipes and expanding my culinary experience. I have stayed and worked with 2 workaway hosts and thoroughly enjoyed embracing different cultures and lifestyles and cherish these experiences greatly.

I would like learn more about regenerative farming practices, experience different cultures, connect with new people, and explore nature. Additionally, I love animals and I would like to experience working and being around animals.

I have worked in the restaurant/coffee industry for 4-5 years so I have experience creating and serving meals. Growing up my parents had a small garden and currently I volunteer at a local farm once a month so I have some skills with growing produce. Additionally, I have good critical thinking skills where I can assess a situation and figure out what needs to be done.

I do not have any experience with carpentry, construction, or renovation but I would be interested in learning.
