Description

Hi there, my name is Leila and I currently live in Germany, always on the move between one or more places. I studied sustainable management and worked as a sustainability consultant for the past years. As for so many, the office environment is just not for me.

I've always been passionate about conservation, specifically of marine life and wildlife of sub-Saharan Africa. Being outside and observing nature provides the best therapy! For this reason, I have decided to leave my (unfulfilling) office job behind and become a field guide in South Africa.

I am very harmonious, open-minded and interested in many things - I'm always seeking possibilities to meet and connect with people (and their pets), learn about their lives, culture and interests. But at most: I love learning new languages!! I grew up bilingual (German and English), studied French for 13 years, learned Portuguese within my four-month internship in Brazil and learned Italian and Swahili while at university. Cultural and language exchange are my source of energy and joy! I've worked in several professional environments, among them corporate management, marketing, hospitality and tourism, NGOs and sustainable project management.

Other than that, I enjoy crafting, baking, reading, decorating, painting from time to time, being outdoors, traveling and yoga. Next up, I'd love to learn more about sustainable farming, working as a field guide and professional wildlife photography!

I'm currently on the lookout to establish myself in Southern Africa in the long term.
