Description
Leif here,
I’m currently wrapping up my business degree at a university in Vienna, and while I’ve been staying in an Airbnb, the rising costs have made it tough to manage! I’ve had a fantastic experience volunteering through Worldpackers at a hostel in Lisbon, and now I’m looking for new ways to live sustainably while sharing my knowledge from past adventures. Growing up on a bee farm, I’ve always been drawn to the outdoors and nature’s wonders. After graduation, I’m even thinking about sailing around Greece in 2025!
I’ve worked in vineyards, done masonry, spent some time working for Red Bull, and so much more. I love staying active, and yoga is a big part of my weekly routine. Whether it’s planting an avocado tree by a windowsill or sparking a great conversation with someone new, I’m all about bringing positive energy to the spaces around me.
I’d love to help out on a farm—it brings back great memories from my childhood. But I’m also down for any creative, fun projects that need a little extra life. In my spare time, I work as a digital marketer and entrepreneur. Cooking has also become a new passion of mine, and after completing an Ironman Triathlon, I’ve been fascinated by the power of nourishing both mind and body with good food.
I’m always up for a sunrise hike, an all-day surf session, or deep conversations over a cup (or two) of coffee. I enjoy helping people feel more like themselves and embracing our unique differences. I’m really looking forward to volunteering again and sharing my skills, perspectives, and experiences with new people and places!Interests

More details about your skills
I’ve developed a wide range of skills throughout my career, primarily in the tech industry, focusing on blockchain technologies, marketing, sales, and business development. However, for volunteer exchanges, I’d love to highlight more hands-on and practical skills that I’ve picked up over the years, especially from growing up on a farm.
I’m skilled in carpentry, woodworking, painting, brickwork, and landscaping, and I also have a solid background in photography and digital marketing. I’ve worked extensively with online social media, business creation, and sales, and I’m passionate about yoga and fitness. I may have a lot of professional experience for my age, but I still love getting my hands dirty and taking on a variety of tasks.
Also, I’m a fantastic cook, and I’d love to contribute these skills in any volunteer experience! 😄Age

What else ...
During 2021, I decided to take a break from school and travel the world. I started in the US, as it was closest to Canada, and I made lifelong friendships along the way, many of whom I still talk to every day. One of my favourite places is California, where I surfed and stayed with a good friend in Carmel by the Valley. Denver, Colorado, holds a special place in my heart too—I lived there for five months in 2022, and it feels like a second home with some of my best friends living there.
In 2022, I also made my way to Europe, where I volunteered at a hostel with a group of people my age. We basically ran the whole place together, which was such an eye-opening experience. Not only did I learn about different cultures from around the world, but I also got a taste of the hospitality industry. One of my favourite parts was welcoming guests and showing them their fancy new room, often with a balcony and city views!
I spent a few months traveling throughout Mexico, visiting Oaxaca, Cholula, Puebla, and exploring Mexico City. The food there is unmatched, and the people are some of the happiest and most genuine I’ve met. Puerto Escondido is probably my favorite spot—it felt like living in a movie, surfing the waves and enjoying deep conversations with locals. It’s a place that really speaks to the soul, and I know I’ll return someday soon.
While I love adventure, I’ve found that traveling non-stop can be overwhelming. These days, I prefer having a central place to call home and traveling from there. Right now, I’m writing this from a friend’s place in Venice, Italy, but it’s nice knowing I have a home base back in Vienna. I’m learning to "slow down to speed up" and embrace a more sustainable, mindful approach to travel.
Recently, I camped with friends around Maui, Hawaii, and last fall, I spent a month exploring all over Italy. Although I’ve traveled to so many places, I’ve come to appreciate the slow, simple moments just as much as the adventurous ones. Our nervous systems need time to relax between all the excitement, and I’m always seeking that balance.
