I live in rural Vermont in the United States. I have been farming for over a decade and am looking to travel to Italy to reconnect with my family's roots and learn more about making pasta by hand.
Description
I am a mother, farmer, herbalist, writer, and pasta maker who lives in rural Vermont in the United States. I am passionate about permaculture, wild plants, goats, and teaching people the art of medicinal comfort food.
When I was 20, I traveled throughout Australia and Tasmania as a WWOOFer (willing worker on organic farms). This summer, I had the privilege of teaching at a lovely community where several work aways attended. Being welcomed into the joyful community and conversation that arises when people come together from different parts of the world and the country revitalized my interest in traveling.
I am 42 now and have spent almost 20 years rooting into community and farming in Vermont. I have a seven year old, husband, goats, geese, chickens, cats, and a tortoise named Tortellini. This fall (2024), I am traveling to Italy for the first time. This solo journey is an opportunity to reconnect with my heritage, make pasta, write, and meet new friends.Interests

More details about your skills
I am a certified permaculturist, herbalist, and farmer with years of non-profit management work with a focus on volunteer management and community organizing.
As a farmer, I have a wide range of useful skills and experience around growing plants and raising animals for food and medicine. I am an animal lover so have not raised any animals for meat, but I have experience with dairy, egg, and fiber production on a homestead/ small farm (we have raised alpaca, sheep, goats, chicken, ducks, guineas, and geese).
I am also an artist and writer who loves to cook and make hand made pasta infused with medicinal herbs. I am easy going and hard working and love sharing decades of knowledge and experience with new people through herb walks and making medicinal pasta together. In addition to any help you need around your house and property, I am happy to teach workshops to friends and family.
As a mother who also ran multiple programs for children, I am also very comfortable helping with childcare.Age
