Description

Hi, we're Lana and James.

We’re taking a career sabbatical to travel, become immersed in new cultures, and develop new skills for the future. We are eager to get our hands dirty, connect with others, and learn from different cultures.

James is a software engineer who worked on helicopters and jets. He’s a nature lover with a deep care for animals, as well as a portrait artist and guitarist.

Lana has previously worked in a range of industries from hospitality to social media management and interior design. Most recently she worked as a digital content writer. She enjoys photography, painting (gouache), reading, trying new recipes, and baking.

We have Workaway Experience with the following:
- Wedding Catering
- Food preparation
- Gardening
- Feeding animals such as pigs and chickens
- Low skill building tasks

We are here to learn! The following skills interest us:

- Volunteered at a variety of animal shelters (horses, rabbits, wild birds). Fed animals, cleaned enclosures, built fences and carried supplies.
- Worked in food service. Licensed to handle food.
- TEFL certified to teach English.
- Hosted Art Meetups. Organized the events, handled money, and answered inquiries.
- Led a team with members in 4 separate countries (France, Ukraine, India, America)
- Knows some basic outdoor safety
- Knows a lot about animals and nature. Is a “bird nerd”.
