I love being surrounded by nature. If i'm not in a good mood a good sunrise or sunset or nature around me, changes my bad mood.
Since January 2024 I am traveling full time. During this journey I have lived in Australia for 9 months and worked for 6 months on a dairy farm. As a Dutch girl I had to work on a dairy farm and it exceeded all my expactations. I loved it more than I could have imagined. Even the early hours and the cold weahter was fine. I loved working with cows.
Before, i have worked as a social worker with homeless families for 4 years in the Netherlands. I liked the job, because I loved helping people. However, the system does work against you so it was quiet hard to do the job. Because I always wanted to travel for a longer time I figured this was the moment, quit everything and left to follow my dreams.
And I haven't regretted it yet.
The best part of this is meeting new people and experiencing (and learning from) new cultures. When I am in a new country I want to know how the people live, what the real situation is and i try to connect with locals as much as possible.
That's why Workaway seems like a great oppurtunity.Interests

More details about your skills
I did one year of Optometry - unfortunatly I couldn't finish it. So I studied Social Work and got my degree including a specialisation in youth care.
During my studies I have worked in an elderly home before getting a job during my internships at the Salvation Army. At the Salvation Army I have experience working at a workplace with homeless people with addiction. For four years I have worked in a shelter for mothers and children who became homeless. I helped them with their finances, psychological problems and was responsible for the safety of 40 people.
In Australia I have experience on a dairy farm in South Australia. I have worked there for 6 months. I milked the cows, moved the herds, fed the calves, did fencing and cleaned the dairy.
I am fluent in Dutch, advanced in English and a beginner in German & French. I have learnt German for 3 years, and French for 5. Currently I am learning Spanish.
