Hi! We’re Kaylie and Nathan, a family of five currently based in Australia, looking for Workaway opportunities where we can contribute our skills and energy.

With a passion for simple living, the outdoors, and hands-on work, we’ve spent the past few years homeschooling our three children (ages 16, 13, and 9) while traveling and working on various projects. We see these experiences as an invaluable opportunity for our family to learn, grow, and give back.

Nathan has over 20 years of experience in building, previously owning a construction company in New Zealand. He’s also a certified yoga teacher, bringing both practical and mindful skills to any project. We’ve built our own home and grown our own food, so we’re familiar with hard work, sustainable living, and problem-solving.

Kaylie loves working in the garden and is always eager to learn new skills. She enjoys exploring different ways of living and embracing new challenges.

Our previous Workaway experiences in Australia include:

Working on a permaculture farm, assisting with gardening and general upkeep

Helping on another farm with animal care and small maintenance jobs


Our children are used to pitching in when needed and enjoy gaining hands-on experience in different environments.

Nathan has a background in building and is also a certified yoga teacher, bringing a variety of practical skills to any project. We’ve built our own house and grown our own food on our land, so we’re familiar with hard work and sustainable living. Kaylie enjoys working in the garden and creating edits for social mediabut is always enthusiastic about learning new things and exploring new opportunities.

We've done previous work-for-accommodation projects in Australia, including working on a permaculture farm where we helped in the gardens, and on another farm assisting with animal care and small maintenance jobs.
