  • Description

    Hey there!

My name is Katy, a 26 year old from the UK. I am a friendly, easy going, and outdoorsy person looking forward to some more Canadian adventures! I love meeting new people, hearing their stories, and trying new things! Andy and I have been in BC since September 2023, working at Sun Peaks Resort for 2 winters and 1 summer. We have loved our time in Sun Peaks; myself as Ski & Bike Patrol Dispatch (and a qualified first responder with WorkSafeBC OFA-A certification). For our final summer in Canada we are excited to see some new areas of BC. Before moving to Canada, I worked in London UK, in healthcare operations and administration at both a not for profit blood cancer charity and the National Health Service! Outside of work I enjoy hiking, gardening, baking, cooking, SUP-ing, skiing, and just generally being outdoors. I love being useful and learning new skills (after all, every day is a school day), and am very excited for what lies ahead in our adventures this summer!

I'm Andy, a 27 year old with a love for meeting new friends and getting stuck into new experiences. I have loved returning to Ski & Snowboard Instructing for the last 2 winters in Canada, and learning new skills as part of the Summer Slopes Crew in Sun Peaks (trail & fence building, cattle control, & outdoor maintenance). This has been an excited change from a career in London UK spent working with children; from the mountains of Austria as a ski instructor, to the British countryside as a holiday camp manager, and most recently as a Woodland Early Childhood Educator. I am passionate about supporting children's natural curiosity, developing their risk-assessing skills, and creating play experiences full of wonder and imagination. I believe strongly in the mantra life is for living and I spend my time away from work cycling in the hills, cold water swimming, and sunrise hikes. I'm a quick learner, resourceful, and hard-working and I am looking forward to new adventures in BC.

Andy and I both have an IEC working holiday permit valid until June 2026.
