Hello! Kia Ora!

My name is Katie, I’m 26 and usually I work full time as an Occupational Therapist for the NHS in Devon, England. I have moved to New Zealand at the beginning of 2023 and I am looking for Workaway’s so that I can gain an immersive experience of NZ culture!

I love to hike, wild swim, ride and read. I am happy to work autonomously or with others. I am sociable, hard working, love to learn and get stuck in!

I have grown up around horses, competing in one day events, hunter trials and hacking out. I would love the opportunity to be involved in horse care and any riding opportunities. I am an experienced rider and have a very quiet, patient approach when working with my horses at home. We have a farm on Dartmoor which has allowed me to complete basic farm tasks and gardening, as well as animal care. I am very comfortable around livestock.

I’m a hard worker, sociable and a quick learner, happy to complete physical tasks and help out with cooking, cleaning, and general domestic tasks.

I am a big foodie – I am always testing new recipes and love hearty, healthy home cooked food. I love everything from sourcing and growing the ingredients, to hosting and enjoying food with others.

I have a particular interest in developing my knowledge surround horticulture and permaculture. I would love the opportunity to learn from others out in the garden.

I 'm a creative person who love to paint, draw and create! Art has been at the centre of my life for as long as I can remember. I'd be happy to help with any painting or decorating.
