Description

Hi! My name is Kamea. I'm an outgoing nature loving yoga teaching hippie with a stoke for life and lust for adventure and new experiences. I'm from the island of Oahu in the Hawaiian archipelago. Being raised on an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean away from the hustle of city life has taught me how connected we all are as living beings and how we are not separate from nature, but apart of it. There is a saying in Hawaiian, it goes "Malama Ka Aina Malama Ka Aina Kako He Ali'i Ka Aina He Kauwa Ke Kanaka" which means take care of the land and the land will take care of you for it is our chief and we are its servant. Taking care of the land is in my DNA and I want to help spread the love and awareness I have for nature with the world.

I was trained to teach Yoga, in India where I specialized in Pranayama and Kundalini. Sharing Yoga with others is very special to me and I'm honored to teach the discipline. Other than yoga, conservation, and sustainable ways of living, I am interested in outdoor sports and recreations; hiking, mountain biking, rafting, rock climbing, surfing, skiing/snowboarding, slacklineing, climbing trees, snorkeling, cave diving and hopefully way more hobbies later down the road.

In terms of work experience, I have 7 years in the service and food industry. I've spent a lot of time in the kitchen and in the "front of house" serving guests. One summer I worked on a peach orchard maintaining the land and harvesting peaches. I spent a year as an outdoor guide taking people zip-lining and ATVing. This past year I've been working as a handyman/carpenter in training. My last job was a 300 sq ft deck remodel. I know how to frame, pour cement, install siding, windows, roofing, painting, and sanding. I'm confident and capable with power tools. I would love to learn more about wood working and making furniture. There are a plethora of skills I wish to acquire within my lifetime. Whatever the challenge, I give it my all.
