Description

Hey! I’m Justice and I’m currently taking a gap year from my veterinary science degree. I’m halfway through a 6 month solo trip at the moment travelling around Canada and Europe working in various vet clinics and doing my own travel in between, and it’s been an incredible journey so far.

Aside from my studies, I also absolutely love music, I sing and play guitar and love performing, playing in bands and writing my own songs. I love the beach, hiking, pilates, picnics, being active in nature, and spending time in cute small towns. I am hardworking, empathetic, easy-going, and try to bring a positive energy into everything I do.

I would love to complete a workaway for the chance to meet new people, acquire new skills and create some awesome memories.

Veterinary Science:
I have a passion for animals and am halfway through studying veterinary science at university in Australia. I have 2 cats and 2 horses at home, one being 2 years old that I am training which has been a very rewarding experience so far. The other I have evented with for the past 10 years, but my main passion is dressage. I love competing and am a confident rider, so if you have horses that need work I would absolutely love to help you out!

During my degree I have acquired skills in animal health and welfare across all species through my degree and through working on animal husbandry properties (horses, cows, chickens, pigs) and have completed work in small and large animal veterinary clinics as part of my course. I am very confident in my abilities to care for all species of animals and am looking forward to beginning the surgical aspect of our degree in 2024.

For the first 2 months of my trip I worked with an equine reproduction vet in Canada as a veterinary assistant which was a very educational experience.

Aside from my veterinary experience:
- I have a passion for cooking healthy and delicious meals and would love the opportunity to improve and learn about different cuisines.
- I have young cousins (1-10 years old) who i regularly babysit and thoroughly enjoy it! I absolutely love kids and all of the energy that they bring to life.
- I am a musician, I play the guitar, piano and sing as well as write my own songs. I love to play in bands and perform whenever I get the chance. I have taken voice, piano and guitar lessons for many years and would be confident to teach anyone who wants to learn!
- I have experience cleaning houses and can clean homes to a very high standard

I love learning new skills and am open to completing any work that you might have for me. I am a fast learner and am extremely willing to try new things.
