Hello! My name is Julia, I'm 21 and would love to work and stay with you!

A couple of things about me. I love travelling and it has been a big passion of mine since I was a kid. And this year I'm finally getting the opportunity to pursue it! I am very open minded and hard working and am willing and excited to learn anything at any given opportunity. Learning about the world and learning new skills is a big passion of mine. I am open for an adrenaline filled activity but also like to paint/draw and read and will always find something to do with my time. I am comfortable and happy to work with a team and love getting the opportunity to meet new people.

I am originally from the state of Oregon in the USA but for the past two years have been working and living on Santa Catalina island off the coast of Los Angeles. My main job has been working in the front desk in a hotel as a receptionist and concierge. Through my time here I've acquired many different types of experience and knowledge in the hospitality industry and have grown a passion for the providing the best guest experience possible. Part of my role included checking guests in/out, booking tours/activities, providing recommendations and being knowledgeable of the area, and assisting guests with any complaints or concerns they may have.

Before I was in Catalina I also stayed and worked in a hostel in Montana for several months which is the workaway review I already have. I loved it and still have many close relationships with my staff/friends who I worked with!

I am looking to spend time in Costa Rica for around 6 weeks and am interested in learning the culture, language, new things, trying new food, exploring places, and meeting new people!

- Front desk/receptionist experience in hotel and hostel setting. This involved checking guests in and out, following proper policy/procedure, being knowledgeable of the area, using multiple booking systems for hotel and tour reasons, keeping a professional appearance and manner, and handling any difficult situations or questions/complaints.
- Shift leader at restaurant for 6 months, in charge of leading team, counting safe/drawers, handling customer complaints, assigning tasks, teaching new agendas/skills, making decisions for store/team, directing crew members, organizing, restocking, cleaning, etc.
- I've worked on two artistic murals and would love to do more
- Two years of AP art, would love to do something creative/teach art
- Animal experience I've had three cats and 1 chocolate lab
- Used to take horse riding lessons when I was younger so some limited horse experience
- Good with computers/technology
- Great at finding information/researching (ex: found the instruction manual for the giant horizontal toaster where I worked and was able to take it apart and clean it from manual)
- Can follow a recipe
- I haven't used power tolls much but would like to learn
