    Description

*Please note we get 3-7 messages PER DAY about staff wanting to come. We may be unsure about availability when you write us but it is very difficult to write to everyone right away. We do our best, but also please only write us with serious inquiries in order to save us time for those applicants who are planning on coming.*

If you're the type of person who loves to be surrounded by a scenic and lively backdrop while helping people get familiar with an awesome town, we are the place for you! We are a small hostel (40 beds) in the middle of downtown Bozeman. We are looking for friendly, active, and fun people to come work part-time. Our location is right in the center of town. It is a very short walk to all the popular nightlife, restaurants, and other attractions. We have Bridger Bowl and Big Sky to ski and snowboard at (a bus goes to these ski resorts for those who do not have a car) and Yellowstone National Park is about an hour away. Montana State University adds overs 17,000 students and a young pulse to our town during the school year along with fun sporting events and concerts. We ask that you are an easy-going and dynamic person while also having a solid work-ethic. Outdoor enthusiasts welcome!

As we are a business, we are required to pay each Workawayer hourly. The hourly rate is dependent on experience and availability. Payment amounts will be discussed and agreed upon BEFORE your arrival.

    Steps in our process:
    1. Reach out! Tell us about yourself, any vital information about your stay, and dates you can come.
    2. We WILL respond. We have 100% response rate because you are valuable to us. We may not have space at the time you want to come, but we will always communicate that to you if that's the case.
    3. We will schedule a FaceTime or WhatsApp interview that works for the both of us if we feel like it could be a good fit for both sides.
    4. During the video interview, we will tell you all about us! If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. We will also ask you a few questions as well.
    5. If what we offer is a good fit and we can host you, we will set a tentative date for your arrival.
    6. This one is important: You must send a CONFIRMATION of your arrival date and text us every month (or so) to keep communication going. We have an incredible amount of Workawayers interested in our property, and we lose touch with some after the video chat. We will assume you are not coming if we don't get a confirmation of an arrival date AND communication in the weeks leading up to your stay.
    7. Text us a couple days before you come to ensure we can either pick you up from the airport (we also have parking for those driving in) or are ready for you when you arrive.

One month is typically our minimum for Workawayers to stay, but we have made exceptions in busier times (Christmas break, etc.).

Thank you for reading all of this and Happy Trails!

We meet many travelers from all over the world! We enjoy engagement with many different people from various cultures and backgrounds. Bozeman also has its own distinct pulse. Winter is full of skiing, snowboarding, and special events that bring in many tourists from all walks of life. Spring brings the fresh green scenery and the awakening of Yellowstone National Park (around 1.5 hours away and we try to get all of our workers to YNP at least once). Autumn brings beautiful fall colors, college football games, and several events in correlation to our campus (Montana State University). Summer is our busiest season, and it is the time when festivals and tourism give Bozeman an extra fun, lively, and exciting vibe.

    Help

It is easy, but fun. We need help with both reception and housekeeping. We may need other basic help, but this is mainly a laid-back job with 20 hours per week. We say "laid back" but please know that we do take responsibilities seriously. While you are on shift, you will be expected to treat this like a regular job and to respect our business and how it operates :). Our staff is the type that "goes with the flow" but also isn't afraid to get work done! We're always willing to go the extra mile for our wonderful staff that goes the extra mile for us.

    Accommodation

You will be either in a private or shared room depending on availability. Free WiFi, free food, bedding, and laundry are provided. We have a TV area, library, kitchen, dorm-style shared restrooms, and a soundproof hangout room. We also have free bike rentals. We treat our staff very well, and we expect workers to return the favor by investing their committed time to the job when "on-shift." If you are put into a 3-bed or 4-bed dorm, it will be with other workers, and your hours will be 20/week. During some seasons and circumstances, we are able to put you in a private room upon availability. Please note that co-habitation is extremely important and we look for Workawayers who clean up after themselves and live well with others!

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Bozeman and the surrounding area are rich in outdoor activities and breathtaking scenery. Any traveler looking to hike, camp, fish, ski, snowboard, snowmobile, and partake in countless other activities are blessed to find themselves in an area like Bozeman. Many festivals, such as the Sweetpea Festival, Music on Main, and other events, come through Bozeman and are within walking distance from our hostel. The nightlife of Bozeman is condensed into the East Main downtown district, right where we are located. Art galleries, boutiques, and fine restaurants are in surplus in our area. We pride ourselves on treating our staff as family. We don't expect you to come and only work. We WANT you to explore Bozeman and the surrounding area, and we try to give you the tools to do so! This area is one of the most incredible and beautiful in the world, and we want our Workawayers to leave with friends and memories.
