  • Description

    Hello,
My name is Julian. I’m 20 years old and from southern Germany, near Lake Constance. Currently, I’m doing an internship in the metal industry as I plan to study aerospace engineering in the future.
Before starting my studies, I’d like to take a few months to explore the world, particularly the northern regions. Starting in March 2025, I plan to travel to Sweden, Norway, and the United Kingdom.
I joined Workaway for several reasons. First and foremost, I want to immerse myself in new experiences, enjoy the breathtaking landscapes of these countries, and explore them with just my backpack. I’m eager to learn about new cultures, meet people from all walks of life, and contribute wherever I can.
I’m particularly interested in outdoor projects like gardening, DIY, or building projects. Although I don’t have extensive experience in these areas, I’m highly motivated to learn and can pick things up quickly. Through my internship in the metal industry, I’ve already gained some hands-on skills and an understanding of how to approach technical tasks. I believe these skills could be helpful for practical projects.
Another important goal is to improve my language skills. I see this as a fantastic opportunity to enhance my English and also begin learning Swedish and Norwegian. I’m passionate about spending as much time as possible in nature—whether it’s hiking, swimming, or perhaps even trying fishing for the first time.
I consider myself a hardworking and enthusiastic person who is comfortable taking on responsibility. I enjoy learning new things and thrive in both independent and team settings. I value authentic, heartfelt, and humorous communication. While I love light-hearted small talk, I truly appreciate deep, meaningful conversations.
Beyond practical work, I also enjoy cooking and would love to exchange recipes or try local dishes wherever I stay. Back home, I like experimenting with simple meals, and I’m always curious about new flavors and cooking techniques.
Hosts can count on me to be reliable, motivated, and open to trying new things. I’m excited to help with daily tasks, whether it’s maintaining a garden, repairing something, or simply lending a helping hand wherever it’s needed

  • More details about your skills

I’m a hardworking, respectful, and honest person who enjoys discovering and learning new things. Even though I don’t have much experience with tasks like renovating, I am eager to acquire these skills. In gardening, I already have some experience, as I often helped my parents in the garden when I was younger. Additionally, I love spending time with animals, especially dogs, and I find their company incredibly rewarding.

As I already mentioned, I am truly passionate about cooking. Experimenting with different recipes and exploring various cuisines is one of my favorite pastimes. Cooking allows me to express my creativity and share joy with others, whether it’s through preparing a simple meal or hosting a gathering.

I thrive in environments where I can contribute, grow, and make a difference, whether through hard work, learning new skills, or lending a helping hand. My motivation and adaptability ensure that I am always ready to face new challenges with enthusiasm and commitment.
