They say Switzerland and Belgium are chocolate royalty, so you could say we’re a match made in cacao heaven!
Hi, we’re Justine and Samuel, a Swiss-Belgian couple blending two nations’ love for chocolate into one sweet adventure. While we can’t promise to carry endless chocolate bars in our backpacks (though it’s tempting!), we can guarantee plenty of energy, enthusiasm, and teamwork.
A Bit About Us:
Justine: I recently finished my studies in Environmental Sciences and worked in Uganda for my master’s thesis. I’m passionate about sustainable and minimalistic living, DIY crafts, and gardening, and I love learning new skills along the way. My friends describe me as adaptable, hardworking, and outgoing. I’ve also had the chance to spend a year studying in Svalbard (Norway) and have completed Workaway experiences in Kenya and Sweden, which deepened my love for meaningful travel and cultural exchange.
Samuel: I studied Business Administration and have experience in entrepreneurship. One of my greatest passions is acting on stage for small theatres. I’m an easy-going person, creative, and always eager to try out new things. During an exchange year in Chile, I discovered my love for exploring new cultures. I also spent a summer living solo in the Norwegian forest in a tent, which taught me resilience and the value of simplicity. This is my first time using Workaway, and I’m excited to experience it as part of our shared adventure.
What We’re Up To
After finishing our studies in Switzerland, we decided to take six months to travel eastwards, exploring new places, meeting new people, and lending a hand wherever we can. We’re committed to traveling as sustainably as possible, using trains, buses, and boats to get from one destination to the next.
Our Passions
When we’re not working or traveling, we love spending time outdoors—mountain climbing and skitouring are big favorites—experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, and learning about different cultures.

More details about your skills
We’re an energetic and motivated couple with complementary skills and interests. We’re also quick learners, always looking to pick up new skills and not afraid to get our hands dirty.
Justine: As an open-minded and social person, I connect easily with others and thrive in teamwork. I love hard physical work—it’s incredibly rewarding to see the results at the end of the day. My enthusiasm and respect for others help me integrate into new communities. With a problem-solving mindset and a drive to achieve high ambitions, I’m always ready to take on challenges and learn something new.
Samuel: I bring a creative and hands-on approach to any project. My experience in theatre has made me resourceful, a good communicator. I also have some experience in construction and working with disabled people, which I gained through jobs I did alongside my studies. I like outdoor and physical tasks and am always happy to help wherever I can.Age
