Description

My name is Josiah and I'm 27 years old and from London - last year I finished nearly four years working full time in London for an NGO and I am now spending the year travelling, since November I have been in India, Sri Lanka and Nepal, meeting as many people as possible, teaching, learning and listening.

This summer I travel to Vietnam to continue this mission of growth.

I have experience in the following:
Teaching English - Taught English to both adults and children across Ecuador, Italy and Vietnam.
Languages - English is my mother tongue, fluent in Spanish and Italian, speak some German and I am happy to teach and keen to learn more languages.
Hostel Work - worked in two hostels in Italy and India, experience in reception work, communications, making beds, coordinating activities.
Permaculture/farm work - building steps, digging swales, planting trees, clearing land, weeding, adapting/recycling materials, building with wood, clearing land for paths.
Charity work - project coordination, communications (newsletters, websites, social media), volunteer coordination, placement coordination.

I have already met some incredible people through workaway and I hope to continue doing so. I am an advocate of exchange economies and engaging more meaningfully with the places I visit within the world, I love workaway because it enables this.

I am a native English speaker, but as stated above I can speak Spanish and Italian to good levels. I have experience working in hectic, large scale kitchens from volunteering at a soup kitchen in the past. I have taught English as a foreign language in Ecuador and also have experience managing social media and translating. I have experience writing and researching for publications within university and have worked 12 hour shifts setting up for the music festival Latitude.
