Finishing my trip in Northern Spain. Returning home soon.

Description

In the next couple of years I'd like to buy some property in the north of Spain to start my own farmstead.

This year I'm traveling Galicia, Asturias and Cantabria to get to know the different landscapes and climate.

To further experience what it is to have a farmstead, I'd like to volunteer in these regions on small farms in rural areas. While helping out in the garden or with construction projects, I can practice and learn some more Spanish.

A computer programmer by trade, but I like to work with my hands.

I have experience with:
- gardening: sowing seeds, watering, weeding, etc
- landscaping: using a chainsaw, weed-whacker and a scythe
- woodworking: building furniture (couch, bed, cupboard), small structures
- metal working: welding, grinding
- power tools: table saw, angle grinder, jigsaw, etc
- repairing things in and around the house: appliances (fridge, washer), car/motorcycle, bikes
- solar panels: setting up a basic system, adding batteries, etc
- 3D design
- cooking and baking: ask me about my whipped cream birthday cake :)

I can drive and am traveling with my own car (can run errands).

I'm an easy-going, relaxed person in most situations.

I like to read, at the moment I'm trying to get through "The silk roads" by Peter Frankopan. I sometimes enjoy board games, like Wingspan, Smallworld or Paleo. And I like to take walks in nature or have the occasional conversation about a philosophical topic.

Practical stuff: I don't smoke, don't drink alcohol and don't do drugs.
I am not vegetarian, but am happy to eat meals without animal products.
