Hello and welcome to our profile! :) We are volunteers coming from USA, and we share a passion for experiencing the world, meeting people, and getting involved in communities. We have dreams of starting our own businesses in hospitality, small-scale retail, and community engagement.

More about us:

Jorge has a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics and has worked as a Translations Project Manager for 5 years. He enjoys learning about language, Latin American culture and history, photography, and music. Jorge's interest in his cultural background drove him to explore his roots in 2019, after he graduated college. He traveled for one year through Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Peru, and Brazil, as he deepened his cultural knowledge of the region. During his time traveling, Jorge volunteered at a dog shelter through Workaway. His decision to choose this volunteering opportunity stemmed from his own experience of working with dogs. During his college years, Jorge had his own dog walking and boarding business, where he would also take photographs of his client's pets and upload them to his Instagram page @dogsoftheamazon. Jorge has recently developed an interest in jewelry-making and clothing-making and is interested in pursuing these interests down the road.

Gonzalo was born in Peru, but he has been living in United States since he was 6 years old. He has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and has worked as a management consultant for 5+ years. Gonzalo enjoys playing sports (soccer, badminton, you name it) and all types of board games. He loves cooking new foods, especially Peruvian foods. He likes teaching, primarily math and science. Gonzalo's work experience ranges from software development (SalesForce), to business/operating model strategy and Engineering Design. Gonzalo has always been very passionate about community service and using his education to support others. In 2019, Gonzalo volunteered for the government of Semarang, Indonesia, to produce marketing content for the city's tourism. He would spend the next 4 months backpacking around South East Asia, meeting locals and travelers. More recently, Gonzalo took classes in American Sign Language and is currently learning how to play guitar.
