Travelling
Description
Hi! I'm Joely from London. Im currently at home in England, but I'm going to be travelling to Cambodia in mid October, then around South East Asia. I love playing board games, getting involved in ambitious artistic projects, cycling and hiking. I finished my masters a couple of months ago and I'm very keen to do something a bit more active and outdoorsy!
For myself I'm hoping to take this time to reflect upon the past few years and experience the world outside of London. I am looking to do some kind of retreat while travelling but would also love to work at one and experience it that way!
I have previously done a workaway style exchange, working on a farm doing watering, cooking and helping build a channel for a stream by laying concrete. I have also worked on a construction project with the not for profit charity All Hands and Hearts. While I don't have lots of experienced in these areas of construction I am a fast learner and am up for trying anything!
Through volunteering in London I am used to cooking for large amounts of people and keeping places tidy.
Sustainability is very important to me and I'm interested in finding ways to incorporate it into my lifestyle.
From waitressing and stewarding shift work I'm used to doing new things each day without a fixed routine. Before my masters I was a maths teacher so I am used to working with children and being creative!Languages spoken

More details about your skills
I've done a variety of jobs and I'm not afraid to get stuck in at anything!
I've worked in schools and done some nannying so I like hanging out with kids. As an assistant at a summer school I helped with the general upkeep of the house. I recently completed a set design internship which involved lots of painting.
I previously did a volunteering placement in Honduras (where I started learning Spanish). Part of this involved getting some holiday cabins off the ground for rental, which involved cleaning, painting and picking fabrics for curtains. I did two weeks at a volunteering project in Peru which involved mixing and pouring concrete, setting up and dismantling forms and levelling ground- with tools and manually.
I love cooking- I make a great mushroom pate!Age

What else ...
I love all card games and most board games (except Monopoly!!). I'm super keen on all arts and crafts- since lockdown I've been into crocheting, carpentry, glass painting... the list goes on
