Hi! My name is Joanna, I’m currently solo travelling South Asia Asia, Australia, New Zealand and east Asia for a year. I’m going a post uni gap year, I studied history and politics at the university of Sheffield which I absolutely loved. I’ve always wanted to travel, as I love meeting new people and talking to them about their lives.

I’m really interested in how people live around the world, the politics in different countries, and seeing amazing nature and sunsets.

I play the trombone (not that I’m travelling with it…) and love music in all its forms.

I have work experience in finance and healthcare, but have no idea what I want to do long term. I hope while travelling, that through the people I meet and the stories I hear I can gain some inspiration.

- While at school I babysat for several local families, so have some basic childcare experience. I love spending time with children (of all ages) so would love to help with childcare.

- I have a full UK drivers license. I passed in 2019, and from 2020 have owned my own car and driven regularly.

- I have full domestic skills. I am adept at household cleaning: vacuuming, mopping floors, kitchens top to bottom (skirting boards and microwaves). I also have lots of experience cooking and baking. I love baking cakes, I’ve dabbled in bread (I once made a baguette!) and I love to cook. Anything from lasagne to curry, basic or a little more adventurous. It goes without saying I’m also great at washing up and doing laundry (never shrunk anything!).

- I only have a little experience gardening, though I have mowed lawns before and helped my parents weeding. When my parents have been away I’ve also watered our garden and inside plants (with instruction) and nothing has died. I would love to learn more about gardening, and with my previous experience have shown that after clear instruction I can happily be left to get on with the job successfully.

- I have worked for a financial services company and as a receptionist for a chiropractic clinic. I’m experienced in excel, and general administration so can happily assist on this front.
