Hi! Our names are Jessica and Parker. We have been traveling on and off for just over two years now.
We met in the San Juan Islands, WA, teaching sailing at a summer camp and in 2020 decided to buy our own sailboat which we sailed from San Francisco to Mexico. For the last 7 months we have lived and crewed on another sail boat crossing the pacific from Mexico as far as Fiji.
We share a deep love the natural world and everything connected to it. We are traveling in search of interesting and alternative ways of life with a passion for sustainability and low-tech solutions to global issues.
We both studied environmental science at university and like to spend our free time hiking, sailing, running, cycling, swimming, trying to surf and just being out of doors.

We are, of course, different people.
Jessica grew up in a small town in the North of England and has spent her childhood on beaches, climbing hills and sea swimming. She enjoys meeting new people and prides herself on being a very competent person. She is self-reliant, sensible, hard working and willing to try (almost) anything. She has had the pleasure of doing two workaways on her own previously and believes its a fantastic way to create a more authentic travel experience, meet interesting people and see the world.

Parker is from the city of Seattle on the West coast of the US. He grew up sailing, skiing and hiking with a love for the outdoor pursuits. He is very sociable and outgoing with a love for meeting new people, sharing stories and gaining cultural knowledge. He is useful with technology and very practical with his hands.
We are loving traveling together and hope that we can meet interesting, like-minded people and be of use to families, communities or people seeking it.

Between us we have a wide range of skills!
We have spent the last few years sailing on/working on both fiberglass and ferro cement sailboats which involved problem solving and enacting effective repairs. This included patching holes, fixing systems and carrying out general maintenance. We now have experience in simple plumbing, electrics and mechanics.
We both have undergraduate degrees in environmental science and love working outdoors in nature. We have experience gardening, wood splitting, and would be enthusiastic to try our hand at construction.
We met in the San Juan Islands, WA, running a waterfront program for a summer camp. This included teaching sailing to kids 6-15 years old, taking responsibility for waterfront safety and managing a team of 15 staff members. We both love working with children and Jessica has extensive experience babysitting and working in outdoor childcare facilities.
Jessica has spent 7 years as a barista in a cafe whilst in school and can make a good coffee as well as having a passion for baking. Parker is an enthusiastic chef and good with a barbecue. We have eaten a variety of diets on our travels so can whip up a good steak or cook delicious vegan dishes.
During last summer we spent a chunk of time doing re-decoration work for family friends so are useful with a paintbrush or a screw gun and not worried about getting dirty.
We're both capable competent people who are willing to put our hands to anything with enthusiasm.
