  • Description

I am a carpenter who has semi-retired and hit the road to follow my bliss in designing and building natural structures for healing sanctuaries and sustainable projects. I am Yoga Alliance instructor certified, offer massage and craniosacral therapies, and have certifications in sound healing including Gong Master. I lived full time at Ananda Ashram in Monroe, NY in a cabin with no plumbing and woodstove heat from 2014-16 where I built a yoga studio with a radiant heat floor and a music studio classroom while teaching weekly yoga nidra and adaptive yoga for a group with exceptional abilities. Since then I have traveled to assist with and participate in indigenous spiritual ceremonies in South Dakota, Maui, Mexico, Peru, and Chile.
I am very self-sufficient - enjoying both communal and solitary work. I am happy to plan and execute small building projects as well as help with daily chores. I also love to cook with the freshest local ingredients I can find!

  • More details about your skills

I have worked with all aspects of residential and institutional construction including carpentry, design, painting, electrical, plumbing, and some ceramic tile projects. I have built custom houses, yoga studios, music studios, and ceremonial spaces for the past 25 years and occasionally whip together some rustic furniture, beds, wooden decks, and gardens (see photos:)

I offer massage with craniosacral therapy for fair trade or cash donation and would love to earn some travel money offering these deep healing modalities in a studio or spa environment. It would be great to have access to a massage table but can work with a floor mat as well. My energy work is guided by my experience as a sun dance and vision quest fire tender, moon dance water bearer, star dancer, and many sweat lodge prayers. I work in connection with the healing plant spirits of Wira and Incan cactuses, Amazonian vine tea & rapé, Sonoran toad, as well as certifications in hypnotherapy and reiki.

I am happy to have grown up on a small family farm with a fruit orchard, laying hens, pony, sheep, milk goats, and large vegetable gardens. I am familiar with composting, planting, weeding, and selective harvesting in greenhouses or raised beds.

I have taught beginner, restorative, and exceptional abilities yoga as well as 1 - 2 hour classes incorporating restorative yoga, yoga nidra, and sound healing meditation. I enjoy introducing beginners to silent meditation by bringing awareness to focus, posture, and intention through conscious breathing.

I have cooked communally and am familiar with menus for specific needs such as macrobiotic and vegan.

I managed an eco-tour guesthouse in Belize for six months many years ago, ran a 14 room inn for three years in New England, and helped with the AirBnB turnovers at Trout Creek Wilderness Lodge in Molalla, Oregon for four months last Fall.

I am proficient in writing in English: how-to's, photo captioning, website articles, blogging, haver assisted with grant proposals for ecological and cultural restoration, and have had several feature magazine articles published.

I lived as part of a yoga ashram community full time for two years, part time for another three, and am experienced with the social tools needed to co-exist harmoniously within a spiritual family. Basically, I clean up after myself:)
