  • Description

Hello Workaway hosts and fellow travelers!

I find true happiness in helping others, working with children, spending time outdoors, and sharing my knowledge with others.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of traveling extensively and immersing myself in a variety of cultures. I’ve lived with wonderful host families in India, South Africa, Argentina, and Peru, each of whom has taught me invaluable lessons about their traditions, religions, ways of life, while allowing me to share in their incredible uniqueness. These experiences have deepened my love for meeting new people, exploring unique cultures, and learning about customs that are different from my own.

As an artist, I’m passionate about expressing myself creatively and finding beauty in the everyday. Photography and travel writing are two of my favorite outlets to capture the moments, stories, and emotions I encounter along the way. Whether it’s through the lens of my camera or the words on a page, I love documenting the richness and beauty in the world around me.

I am also a hard worker who is not afraid to roll up my sleeves, get dirty, and embrace new challenges. I thrive on the excitement of trying something unfamiliar and allowing myself to be surprised by what I discover. Whether it’s helping to build something, working in the garden, or diving into a task I’ve never done before, I bring enthusiasm and dedication to everything I do.

I’m beyond excited to connect with like-minded individuals, contribute to meaningful projects, and continue this amazing journey of exploration and growth. I’d be thrilled to share my skills, creativity, and positive energy with you!

  • More details about your skills

I'm a big people-person! I'm extraverted, bubbly, talkative, and endlessly fascinated by others! I never get bored because I know there are still conversations and experiences I haven't had!

I have extensive experience working with children from infants up to the age of 15 in daycares, schools, and summer camp settings. I have supervised and organized educational and creative programming for children of all ages which has helped me develop my communication, organization, and project management skills. I am motivated to create enriching experiences for others and find lasting fulfillment in my work. I am an extremely curious and compassionate person who thinks critically and intentionally about how my work impacts others.

In addition to childcare, I have strong research and cross-cultural skills gained from conducting ethnographic healthcare research in India, South Africa, and Argentina during my time with the School for International Training. This opportunity allowed me to collaborate with grassroots organizers and healthcare professionals, deepening my understanding of global issues and cultural diversity. It also strengthened my knowledge of how community organizing can be used to address a wide range of adversities.

As a creative professional, I have advanced skills in photography, photo editing, writing, and art. I’ve designed and taught courses on interior design and figure drawing and enjoy using photography and travel writing to capture and share the beauty of the world around me.

Beyond my hospitality and caretaking roles, I’m highly skilled in leadership, teamwork, and event coordination. In the past, I worked with multiple non-profit organizations. I collaborated with the fundraising team for an organization that helps refugees immigrate to America and volunteered with the service corps for six months doing conservation work in Acadia National Park. I excel at working with diverse groups and exercising cultural sensitivity.

I pride myself on being adaptable, hardworking, and willing to take on new challenges. Whether it’s in a professional setting or the great outdoors, I am always ready to contribute with enthusiasm and perseverance!
