  • Description

Hi! We are two nature-loving, adventure-seeking people-persons from Hungary. We recently spent a month traveling across Guatemala and fell in love with the jungle, the volcanoes, the culture and the ancient history so much, we decided to explore more.

We are determined to do something meaningful, make connections and immerge in the culture as much as possible. We are looking for opportunities to share our skills, do community work, language-exchange programmes and spend time in nature - while learning about sustainable living. We are looking for opportunities in Central and South America.

Ákos is an architect with a green thumb and an innovative personality. He built his own house out of scratch and found incredible solutions to make it as eco-friendly as humanly possible. He is also a qualified mushroom expert, has an "there is a solution to everything" approach to life, especially when it comes to renovation, building, fixing, gardening or handling unexpected difficulties. He is also a dog-whisperer, a hiker, a history enthusiast and an entertainer. He can always amaze people with his sense of humour, his stories and his knowledge.

Jenny is a special needs educator, an English teacher, a learn-new-skills-junkie. She has recently completed a literacy translation course and an intensive Spanish immersion programme. Her next step is to study Music and Theatre Therapy in Spain. She has lived in Guatemala as a volunteer teacher and has volunteer experience in orphanages and in summer camps for people with special needs.

We both prefer to "get our hands dirty", work hard and get a kick out of seeing that our work made a difference.

We hope that we can help with your project as the two of us have a wide range of skills. Ákos is very much experienced in IT, architecture, gardening and basically anything "down to earth".
Jenny has a lot of experience in community work, creative projects, translation and is especially interested in everything that has to do with rehabilitation and inclusion.

We are looking for a place where we can share our skills and as long as we are in nature, around people and/or animals, doing something meaningful, we're happy!
