  • Description

Hello! We are Caleb & Jennee from Montana, USA. We recently got married July 2023. Some of our favorite things to do together are trying new foods, singing karaoke, going on nature walks, and volunteering together. Last summer we've been volunteering on a food truck that brings free lunch to children in low-income neighborhoods in our city. We hope to find new opportunities to help others in our own community and others around the world.

For both of us, the best part of traveling is always meeting new and interesting people and experiencing their country's culture firsthand, which is why we want to travel through workaway rather than just as tourists. We also tend to get bored as tourists quickly, and prefer to do something productive/active/hands-on.

Caleb has done a lot of hands-on general labor such as working on a ranch and basic construction. Caleb's hobbies include weightlifting, playing drums, tabletop games and Magic the Gathering. He studied Archaeology at university and has worked on a couple archaeological projects and digs locally. He looks forward to hopefully working internationally in this field in the future. We would love hearing anything you know about local history or visiting important cultural sites nearby if the chance arises.

Jennee grew up in a small rural community where she helped her family grow most of their food organically and still enjoys gardening when she can, as well as growing indoor plants. (Finding homes for her many potted plants before we left to travel was quite difficult!) She studied Mathematics & Spanish at university, while working in a restaurant and also at a children's science museum teaching hands-on science experiments. She spent a summer volunteering in the Dominican Republic building houses and teaching English, and one summer as an au pair in Spain through workaway. After graduating she spent two more years in Spain as a English teaching assistant in secondary schools. However now she has quit teaching and most recently was working in a bank. Her hobbies include cooking, singing in choir, reading books, hiking, biking and drawing. I would love to teach each other how to cook recipes from our respective cultures.

More details about my language interests
We both are very interested in foreign languages and linguistics and would love to learn about your language and to help you practice English. Jennifer lived in Spain for two years and was fairly fluent in Spanish, though it has gotten a little rusty in recent years. Caleb took a few years of Japanese in university and had several Japanese exchange students as friends so also has an intermediate level of Japanese.
