  • Description

    Hello! 🙏🌈
My name is Jam, from Ireland.

I have been fortunate to have had quite an interesting adventure already in my first 10 years of adult life - from originally going to study AI, dropping out to go to circus school, to wanting to become a Buddhist monastic (I'm still working on that one!). In 2024, I lived for a while in a Zen Buddhist Monastery in France. I am now back home and wanting to explore my spirituality and different ways of living in harmony with community and nature, so I can continue to see where life will take me next.

I have had a huge array of different interests across my life, but I am motivated fundamentally by my spiritual path - taking form mostly through a Buddhist practice of wanting to bring Peace, Happiness, and Liberation to all beings.
I have an ideal of living an ethical, simple, conscious lifestyle within a spiritually driven community. I care deeply for the Earth and for those most vulnerable on this planet. I strive to live in a way that I can cultivate Joy and satisfaction from having just my basic needs met, so that I can give generously in time, energy, and material resources.

I'm super keen to learn (more) about eco-building, permaculture, foraging, carpentry, vegan cooking, renewable energy, community organising, and just about anything that builds towards living more ethically, simply, and in-tune with nature.

I enjoy various forms of spiritual practice such as sitting/walking/tea meditation, mindful eating, Dharma Sharings, yoga, etc. Some of my other hobbies include music, photography, and reading.

I am a hard-worker, eager and fast to learn new skills and to get stuck into practical tasks! Especially any opportunity to connect with the Earth and animals.
I can be playful yet calm with a deep intuition to help and care for those around me. I love to organise and actually enjoy cleaning (believe it or not!).
As long as I have clear instructions, I'm open to doing almost anything.

I look forward to experiencing different community ways of life, learn new skills and ways of thinking, and to connect deeply with new people and environments.

    A wild adventure of education/jobs:
I originally went to studying Artificial Intelligence (so I'm pretty tech savvy); changed to go to circus school (semi-professional contortionist, aerialist, flexibility & dance coach, drag/burlesque performer, and model); worked as a masseuse; teaching and minding children; volunteering as a Climate activist; Workaways at various spiritual centres (housework, gardening, media & photo/videography work).

    Other hobbies over the years:
music (piano, ukulele, guitar, singing), (digital) art, costume design,.. many more.

And recently 8 months at a Buddhist monastery working as part of its daily operations in large retreats, including facilitating groups and organising visitor days.
