I am travelling all of South east Asia , and am interested in trying good local food, experiencing new cultures,exploring/trekking the jungles and meeting new people.

Description

Hey I'm Jake Im 21 years old and from England. I am currently in The Phillipines and travelling through South east Asia over a long period of time , I hope to do a combination of travel and workaway projects so I can explore but also help local people with projects and experience the true culture.

I am an adventurous, open minded and passionate person who loves exploring and being surrounded by tropical nature. I really feel a connection to the planet. I enjoy reading and kitesurfing too. I am really looking to immerse myself in the local nature where I can learn about the environment. So Ideally I am looking for a project that involves some actives with the ground or even if its just surrounded by beautiful nature I will be very happy:)I look forward to using the earth to our advantage in a positive, eco friendly way. I love being somewhere/doing something completely different to what I know and embracing it with full force and putting all my energy into it.

Back home I worked as a chef in a French restaurant, I love cooking and eating new foods from different countries. I have experience from past jobs in construction and worked for a painting and decorating business in. I also have my padi open water dive license.

Im an hardworking individual who takes pride in whichever work I do, great communication skills and ability to adapt to any situation. I appreciate clear and concise instructions about the work at the start then I'm comfortable being left alone and being independent. Once I have formed a clear idea of the project I think I will find what needs to be done without being asked and will get really involved! I will always try my best,I work well as a team or on my own.

I love sports in which I can utilise the elements like kitesurfing, snowboarding and surfing; extreme sports in . I enjoy exploring nature, walking, hiking, cliff jumping and climbing or finding waterfalls.

I’ve completed a Workaway before in Costa Rica and also volunteered in a hostel

I have experience cooking ,construction and painting , I would also love to teach someone my native language of English and learn Spanish or the local language I am travelling in . I can adapt to any task given to me easily and pick up new skills quickly, I enjoy a challenge. At home I really enjoy cooking a lot so look forward to possibly learning about local food and how to cook it here.

I have done a Workaway before in Costa Rica building a eco lodge using only sustainable materials and trying to stay carbon neutral. My tasks involved painting , construction , chopping through the jungle to build paths and various other tasks like helping fix the water system. This was for 5 weeks

I also volunteered in a hostel in Colombia for a month , where I worked reception , checking in guests and giving them information and a tour about the hostel , and helped with local community projects with the local kids .
