Soy optimista, ecóloga, creativa y con mucho entusiasmo. Soy arquitecta paisajista, britanica, retirada: el mundo natural, temas sobre el medio ambiente y sistemas sustentables me fascinan. He trabajado con plantas toda mi vida adulta, mayormente en proyectos ecológicos, en paisajismo y en viveros de producción de plantas ornamentales. Tengo mucho interés en la historia de sistemas de riego histórico, la cual estoy intentando investigar. Me gusta trabajar al aire libre más que en el interior y quiero aprender sobre técnicas de reconstrucción de viviendas, jardines etc. Además disfruto de trabajos manuales y artísticos.

He tenido la suerte de haber viajado a varios países conociendo lo diverso y precioso que es conocer nuevos lugares y nueva gente. He vivido en el Ecuador, durante los últimos 33 años, entre montañas, bosques y flora exuberante. Esta experiencia ha sido fenomenal compartiendo vivencias culturales Andinas, y ayudando a diseñar paisajísticamente un Parque Arqueológico y Etnobotánico Incaico/Canari y un Plan Maestro de un Jardín Botánico, entre otros proyectos. Los conocimientos ganados me han servido para ayudar en la formación de un nuevo reto. En el sur del Ecuador estamos desarrollando un proyecto Aquí y Ahora (Here and Now) para académicos y artistas la cual será sostenible con temas de permacultura, arte, construcciones alternativas, producción de alimentos orgánicos, producción de aceites esenciales, etc.

Al compartir experiencias con Workaway pienso que habrá posibilidad de ayudar a los hosts con mis conocimientos además de retroalimentarnos. En espera de experiencias memorables…..

I am optimistic, creative and a nature lover, with a lot of enthusiasm. I am a retired landscape architect (British) in my early 60’s. I am fascinated by the natural world, environmental issues and sustainable systems. I have worked with plants all my adult life, mostly in ecological projects, in landscaping and in nurseries in the production of ornamental plants. I am very interested in historical irrigation systems, which I am trying to research at the moment. I like working outdoors more than indoors and I want to learn about reconstruction techniques for houses, gardens, etc. I also enjoy manual and artistic work.

I have been lucky enough to have traveled to several countries enjoying their diversity and beauty and getting to know new places and new people. I have lived in Ecuador for the last 33 years, among mountains, forests and exuberant flora. This experience has been phenomenal, sharing Andean cultural experiences and helping to design, an Inca/Canari Archaeological and Ethnobotanical Park, a Master Plan for a botanic garden, amongst other projects. The knowledge gained over my career has enabled me to help in the formation of a new challenge. In the south of Ecuador we are developing a sustainable project Aquí y Ahora (Here and Now) for academics and artists, with themes of permaculture, art, alternative constructions, organic food production, production of essential oils, etc.

By sharing experiences with Workaway I hope there will be a chance to help the hosts with my knowledge and give a helping hand on any project I can be of service to, as well as getting feedback from them. Awaiting memorable experiences…..
