Hello,
my name is Ignacy, and I'm 22 y.o. medical student from Cracovia, Poland.
Im fluent in English and native in Polish; currently learning French and German.

About me: I arrived at France on 24 of June, and so far I'm enjoying my time at Modeled United Nations Conference in Toulouse as I keep some interest in global politics in general.

After 29 of June I have one month of holidays before my clinical practices in Vienna.

This might be my first Couchsurfing! Before that I was travelling but mainly with IFMSA (International Federation of Medical Students Association) or to MUN conferences.

Highly recommended!

I spent five days with Gille, and the experience was pure gold! The location is stunning, with views of high mountains and green valleys (the sunsets here are amazing!). The mountains around Gille's hamlet are accessible, and I highly recommend exploring them for the views and to immerse yourself in the nature of the Drome… read more region. I also learned a lot about France, the region and other thing like tool's and arts!

The hamlet is a complex of several mansions on the mountainside. I suggest walking around the hamlet to experience different views and discover the cottages and shacks scattered around. The whole complex is quite large, but Gille will give you a tour upon your arrival. Despite being on the mountainside, the mansions are well-equipped with showers, baths with warm water, and gas stoves. There is even a working piano!

Gille is a very passionate person. He will welcome and treat you well, and he coordinates the work on the hamlet. Every day starts with yoga or Taoist movements, which I found to be a great way to begin the day. Gille is open-minded, so you can talk to him about anything. Don't hesitate to ask him about the hamlet project or technical issues like hydrology, gardening, and tool usage—he has immense knowledge about self-sustainable development and is willing to share it.

The other residents, Georges, Jason, and Jose, are amazing guys who are always willing to help. Georges is an artist whose sculptures fill the courtyard. He also does contemporary dancing, like Butō, and was the leader of the theatrical group in Strasbourg. Jason is a travel expert who taught me a lot about various subjects. His stories about various adventures were precious gems during our work. Jason is also interested in philosophy and anthropology, but you can ask him about anything! Jose is a traveler who loves to bike.

The location is quite remote, but the guys have cars, and there is also a cheap state taxi.

This project is for you if you want to find peace in the mountains of the Alps. I would recommend this workaway to anyone interested in sustainable growth and economics, as Gille's project focuses on creating a self-sustaining hamlet. If you ever visit Gille, please ask him to show you his garden or the mountain spring that provided for us.
