Hi, I´m Ida, a prospective student of fine arts, yet keen to explore new places and get to know different cultures and different ways of living openheartedly. I love connecting with new people, sharing stories, experiences, and the purity and modesty of everyday life tasks. As much as I am a sociable person, I find great joy in spending some alone time in nature or exploring new places on my own. I am passionate about consuming all forms of art and I would like to enrich my own journey of practicing art, by getting to know new customs.

My areas of experience are spread and I would consider myself to be very flexible and adaptable to the tasks and the sorts of work I am required to do. As much as I am happy to help with some skills I have, furthermore, I love to learn new skills and gain new experiences!
I find great joy in giving love and appreciation back to the earth. I enjoy working in nature a lot and I find true satisfaction in the purity and simplicity of work that is being done by hand. Growing up in a very rural area next to a farm contributed to the delight and appreciation I feel toward nature. I also did an internship at a farm and took gardening classes at school.
On the other hand, I am looking forward to participating in more sociable projects. I provided training at a summer circus camp for children and worked at a farm with children for seven years. Enjoying the hustle and bustle in restaurants and cafes, I have been working in different cafes.
Since I received a Waldorf education (I went to a Steiner School) I am familiar with a variety of creative skills that I am happy to share and eager to expand.
I have a passion for visual arts, and have participated in multiple art projects and events, and festivals.

I am looking forward to contributing to a productive and fulfilling working atmosphere, and mutual enrichment, and am ready to offer my help wherever it is needed.

Sam, Trina, and Alix welcomed me into their home and ensured that I felt at home in this wonderful place as well, from the very beginning. It was the kind of home, that allows a bunch of strangers from all over the world to feel like a kind of family very quickly.
With their extraordinarily open-hearted, open-minded, and welcoming manner, they… read more have created a very international and social atmosphere where everybody is welcome to be themselves.
If you are lucky, you get the chance to try traditional dishes from one of the countries of your fellow workawayers, can have interesting conversations, or listen to many stories from all over the world that Sam has to share. However, in a wonderful way this workaway, at the same time, also allows you to experience a poetic, rural, Italian lifestyle. It is a place where Italian everyday life meets an international and open-minded spirit.
I spent a little more than two weeks at this place during the olive harvest season. During working hours, we mainly stayed out in the fields, picking the olives usually by hand, surrounded by the most beautiful Umbrian landscape, the smell of olives, autumn leaves, and wild mint. We sometimes went harvesting other fruit or chestnuts and prepared the place for the winter months. You get to practice your Italian with Katja, Bruno, and Francesco, very kind local farmers who work on the property too, and are fun to be around. They are very patient with the workawayers, eagerness to work was rewarded with generous praise, and on specially rainy and chill days they made sure to lift everybody´s mood with some Italian chocolate confectionery. Getting to know the passionate Italian food culture was not neglected either. Sam generously provided everyone with Italian coffee from the bialetti, and led us through several wine tastings before incredibly delicious, Mediterranean dinners.
After work, we had plenty of time to cozy up in front of the fireplace while reading, writing, journaling, playing cards, and delving into conversations or our thoughts. Combined with the satisfaction of the purity of work that is being done by hand and spending most working hours outside in picturesque nature, this workaway nourished my soul and allowed my soul to flourish. I feel very grateful for the opportunity to spend time at this wonderful place. It not only meant an enrichment to my stay in Italy but to life.
