Hello, my name is Hilde, originally from Belgium, but I have lived in UK for the past 30 years. Now my daughter has grown up, I will use my new found freedom to travel and explore.
I love meeting new people, exploring different cultures and learning new things. Like many people, I am looking for a more sustainable way of living, where we communicate better, waste less, make more sense, accept each other and take responsibility for our behaviour.
At the moment I am working as a holistic therapist, practicing massage, meditation reiki, reflexology and myofascial release. I also recently qualified as a yoga teacher.
Before that I was a music teacher, teaching classical guitar. I am currently learning the violin and loving it.
I converted an old stable into a house and learned many things. Plumbing, tiling, brick laying,.... but my favourite building skill is woodwork. I love repurposing stuff people would throw away, making anything from chicken sheds to furniture to a whole massage studio out of old bits of wood. Some of my woodwork is on the pictures.
I like to grow my own food, did a permaculture design course and use permaculture principles in my daily life.
I have a keen interest in natural building, especially cob and adobe houses. My dream is to build an eco cob home somewhere idyllic, in a beautiful co-creative, eco-spiritual community on a hillside, with a spring for clean water.
I value a simple life, with time for creativity, music, conversation, swimming and walking bare foot.
I like good honest, simple vegetarian food, I have no interest in drugs or alcohol (apart from an occasional glass of wine).Interests

More details about your skills
I have spent the past 15 years building my little home in York, UK. I acquired many practical skills. I can do basic plumbing, bricklaying and woodwork.
Most of my furniture is hand made and nothing makes me happier than making things out of old stuff that would go to waste. I recently made a shed for my massage studio, a garden shed, a sofa bed, a walk in wardrobe.
I love working on the land, have kept a vegetable garden and worked as a gardener. I have gained the Permaculture Design Certificate and like to apply permaculture principles to all aspects of my life.
I love playing music, I have taught classical guitar for 20 years, play piano and have recently started to play the violin.
I am qualified in holistic massage and myofascial release. I also practice reflexology and hot stone massage.
Since this year I am a qualified yoga teacher.Age

It was easy, funny in a world was a pleasure to host her.
Thanks Hilde.
They really took care of me, I quickly became part of the family and settled into a nice routine, having lovely meals together and taking the children to their many activities.
