Hi there! I'm Hediye, a 36-year-old from Turkey. I work as a Project Officer at a non-profit organization in Turkey, where I focus on projects that benefit rural communities. Currently, I am planning a short stay in Barcelona to participate in a specialized program, but I am also eager to immerse myself in the local culture and meet new people.

I’m passionate about traveling, sharing experiences, and learning from others. Listening to people’s stories and understanding different perspectives are things I truly enjoy. I believe that every conversation has the potential to inspire and teach, and I’m looking forward to the connections I’ll make through Workaway.

I have a diverse background combining project management, rural development, and international relations. Currently, I work as a Project Officer for a non-profit organization in Turkey, where I coordinate initiatives aimed at improving the livelihoods of rural communities, particularly in the agricultural sector. My academic background includes a Master’s degree in International Relations, and I am now pursuing a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics with a focus on sustainable farming practices.

In addition to my professional experience, I have a strong volunteer background. I have been actively involved in civil society projects for many years, including working with youth and women's groups to empower them through education and training. I also volunteered in Hungary for two months as part of the European Voluntary Service, which deepened my appreciation for cross-cultural exchange.

When I’m not working, I enjoy being hiking, exploring nature, and discovering new cultures through travel. I am also passionate about storytelling, whether it’s listening to others share their experiences or reading about different parts of the world. My curiosity about the world keeps me learning new things and seeking out meaningful connections.
