Description

I was born in Iowa and raised on farms and have worked on dairy farms and row crop farms, but not really explored much of this world. My plan is to travel to different areas of the United States for my own cultural education. I know that people have different ways of perceiving our existence and it behooves me to expose myself to those beliefs that are different from my own. My formal education may have ceased when I completed high school, but I am not uneducated about the world. Learning about myself is an ongoing education, too.

Restaurant line cook and prep cook, baking and cooking skills (creating dishes from recipes, using food processor, griddles, grills, oven, convection oven)
Volunteering at a community kitchen that prepared and served a free weekly breakfast meal to anyone who wanted it. Set up tables & chairs, kitchen prep cook; order-taker and server; clean up crew.
Video editing and creating DVDs.
Tending livestock (hogs and dairy cows), milking cows daily, baling hay, harvesting row crops, driving farm tractors, repairing field implements, setting up fences (barbed wire), grinding/mixing feed.

I was raised on farms and have worked on dairy farms and row crop farms. I know how to drive tractors and skidsteer loaders. I enjoy gardening and landscaping work because it helps keep me grounded figuratively and literally. I have been house-sitting for a couple of friends when they go on vacation & tend to their dogs, too (food/water,dog walking/running daily). Also, I have 8 years experience as restaurant line cook & prep cook.
