  • Description

    Hello!

We are Harriet and Bill. We are a couple currently living in London, UK on our little canal boat.

    Harriet:
I am an artist, maker and horticulturist. I count myself as a practical and hands on person with skills in sewing, basic woodwork, painting and diy. I work in a wood workshop when I'm in London helping disadvantaged adults with craft projects.

Before this, I was an organic farmer/gardener. I worked on a 30 acre organic plot growing vegetables, flowers fruits and herbs. I am looking to expand my knowledge of regenerative farming.

I grew up in the countryside on a working farm near Wales. We kept, cows, sheep, horses and chickens. I am at home in the outdoors and am looking to escape city life for a while to do some physical labour and to reconnect with the land.

I love cooking fresh, seasonal food, and I love baking too! I am looking forward to learning new things in the kitchen and trying new foods.

    Bill:
I have a background in Physics and Engineering and work as software engineer in the UK. I am tech savvy and am fascinated by electronics and mechanics, which comes in handy when fixing up our narrowboat! I'm also interested in how technology can be used to help with growing food on a small scale.

In my free time I enjoy hiking, cycling, foraging, and learning about fungi. I love listening to and making music and I play in a brass band back in the UK. I have been fortunate to have met so many brilliant people and had many wonderful experiences travelling and working on farms in New Zealand, Vietnam and Nepal.

Together Harriet and I run a yearly not for profit community event called The Banquet which brings together fresh seasonal food with music and performance in an beautiful outdoor setting. It's the highlight of our calendar and 2025 will be our 8th year!

We love exploring the rivers and canals in our houseboat. We love camping, hiking, cycling, dancing, travelling and learning together. We have open hearts and will get stuck into any task.

We look forward to meeting you!
