  • Description

    Hello!
Our names are Elisabeth and Hannah. We are both 18 years old, live in Germany and have been friends since we were 5 years old. Therefore, we get on really well and are a great team.
We have just finished school and are now looking to work and have experiences in new countries and see what the world has in store for us!
We are both very communicative, open-minded, uncomplicated, and happy individuals.
We are motivated to gather new experiences by traveling, meeting new people and different cultures so that we can create as many memories as possible, broaden our horizon and grow as individuals.
We love being outside and enjoy nature and hiking as we are both very active. We have been on numerous hiking holidays in Italy and have always been interested in traveling the world together. We are both hard working and reliable and have multiple work experiences: Hannah works at a flower shop and Elisabeth in a restaurant. Furthermore, we have both worked as babysitters and tutors and are capable of taking care and helping children.
We are both fluent in English and German. Elisabeth has taken a time abroad in England were she attended school. Hannah is half Irish half German and grew up in a bilingual household. As we both have siblings, we are social and know how to integrate well in family life.
We are eager to improve our skills and embrace new challenges along the way!
Additionally, we are very fond of animals as we grew up with them and have spent many holidays on farms.
We are excited to embark on our journey and are looking forward to the adventures ahead!

More details about my language interests
Hannah: I have been raised in a bilingual household and therefore I am fluent in both German and English. Teaching either language comes naturally to me and I have already tutored younger students for both subjects. I am also interested in learning new languages myself!Elisabeth:I speak German and English fluently and can communicate in French. While German is my mother tongue, I learnt English and French at school. As I have always been interested in languages and the opportunities that arise from speaking other languages, I spent 8 months in England in 2021. Through this experience abroad, I not only got to know a new culture and great people, but also improved my English language skills. This experience showed me how important language can be for communication and the diversity it offers. My time in England also awakened my interest in languages, so that I completed my A-levels in English and passed the Cambridge certificate. All these experiences awakened in me the desire to learn other languages and to pass on my language skills. Language is the key to cultural exchange and peaceful coexistence.

  • More details about your skills

Hannah: Due to my 12 years in school, I have had the opportunity to learn about a vast spectrum of different subjects such as math’s, history and many more - my favorite being biology. Due to my father being Irish and my mother German I am fluent in both English and German. I love exercise and frequently go running and swimming. I am skilled with my hands and love all arts - once I had to create a lamp using recycled materials in my art class which finally my teacher bought, because she loved it so much! I am a trained swimmer as well as piano player and love making music. Furthermore, I know how to ride horses – I was part of a club for 5 years. I grew up with a dog and cat which is why I love animals and I am good with handling and taking care of them. I also tutor younger students in school and have gained experiences in teaching and explaining. In addition, I work at a flower shop, where I have learned to make beautiful arrangements. Moreover, I learned how to take care of plants and nature as well as clean and maintain a shop so that it looks attractive for the customers.
    Elisabeth:
I studied many different subjects during my 12 years at school and finally passed my Abitur exams in English, German, Maths, History and Art.
My favourite subject is art, which I also did outside of school. I love to create something with my hands and my imagination. I can transfer this enthusiasm to others and inspire them to be creative.
I am also active in sports, play basketball and go jogging regularly, and as I have two little brothers I am very patient and responsible with children, and I also babysit in my neighbourhood, which I really enjoy.
I also work as a waitress in a Bavarian restaurant in my spare time and can handle stressful situations well.
Furthermore, I have a close connection to nature due to my rural home, Murnau. I have learnt to appreciate and get to know it through my family. I know which mushrooms are poisonous and which are edible and how to handle plants.

  • What else ...

Hannah: I can help with numerous things such as taking care or helping children, maintaining the garden, cleaning the house or watching over the animals. I do not shy away from challenges and tasks and look forward to learning new skills and knowledge.
I am looking forward to meeting new cultures and seeing new countries.
I am social and love playing board games of all kinds as well as puzzling and outdoor games.
I like spending my free time with family and friends as well as reading, going to the the theater or simply being out in nature.
    Elisabeth:
I am a person with many different interests and always open to discovering new ones.
Firstly, I am a sporty person who likes to spend time outdoors. In my free time, I play basketball in a club and go jogging from time to time.
I also enjoy going for walks and especially hiking. As I live near the Alps, I also have the opportunity to satisfy my wanderlust. I love spending time on the mountain, being close to nature and the cool refreshment of jumping into a mountain lake. I have no fear of contact with animals, plants and dirt, but like to get stuck in. I like to throw myself into adventures and try out new things.
On the other hand, I am a person who enjoys artistic endeavours. I like to work independently with art in my free time. I like to draw, paint and print with and on different materials. I also sew, also to customise and redesign used clothes.
I have also taken various art courses inside and outside of school. For example, I led an art project in public spaces. As part of this, me and my seminar course were able to realise our 2m tall and long wooden sculpture and set it up in Murnau Park. As part of my advanced art course, I took part in an exhibition and was able to exhibit my artworks.
As all these projects show, I like to devote myself to artistic and handicraft work. I have various skills that I would like to pass on. Art is a universal language of its own that connects people and cultures and therefore a skill that I would like to utilise in my workaway experience.
In general, I am open to many topics and tasks in which I can participate. I am eager to work and used to stressful work situations due to my student job in the tourism catering industry.
