I'm Gavin from Macau, a busy city known for casinos, I work as a wine sommelier onboard a luxurious cruise ship travelling the world (routes covered include the Mediterranean, the Caribbeans and Asia). My current cruise contract will finish in January, I will be doing a grape harvest season winery cellar work in South Africa. Afterwards, I am thinking of spending some time in Brazil. As a wine lover, I'm open to helping at different types of hosts of vineyards/ winery nature to further my career in wine-related field. This year (2025 September, I worked a harvest season in Styria, Austria at a 9-ha biodynamic vineyard as grape picker and cellar hand.)
In addition, I had previously been involved in viticultural projects helping with general farm tasks, in New Zealand (Marlborough) and in Argentina (Mendoza), respectively.

A little bit about myself, I'd say I'm quite versatile, I have a passion for travel (especially visiting wine regions) and learning new experiences. Having been exposed to different cultures and people I consider myself an experienced traveler. I speak English, Cantonese, Mandarin Chinese and currently learning Portuguese.
I have a driver's license and I have experience driving a forklift.

More details about my language interests
I speak very basic Portuguese and I'd like to improve on it before my trip to Brazil in March 2026. We can also practice Cantonese, English, or Mandarin conversation if anyone is interested.

Helped out in several different places such as youth centers and farms including RDA (Riding Develops Abilities), YMCA. On previous stays (in New Zealand, from 2017 to 2019 and in 2024, on and off) I helped out with exercising horses (riding, lunging, breaking in), guiding visitors/ tourists, weeding/ gardening, mustering/ feeding calves, chopping firewood, and general vineyard work, etc.
In Portugal (2019) I mainly helped with preparing dinner with the chef, as well as restaurant waiter, in a guest house. Also helping with making beds and cleaning in a hostel.
In Japan (2020) I did some help in an oyster aquaculture farm with various tasks (generally labor tasks)
In Taiwan (2023) I helped at a backpacker hostel/ surf house on the east coast with housekeeping chores.
