Hello everyone!
My name is Gaia and I come from Italy.
I am new in this amazing Community of Workaway and I am very excited to explore this beautiful world.

Something you should know about me is that I am lucky to have had the opportunity to travel quite a lot within the past 9 years, either for work or for leisure.
After 5 years in Hong Kong, I decided to come back home, in a small town in the north-est of Italy, where I had the most amazing time with my beloved family.

I am very curious, I like to learn new things in any field, and yes, I am that kind of person that ask a lot of questions!
I am very bubbly and an active person.
I enjoy long walks in the nature and watch the sunset, city-life is mainly a no for me.
Good talks are always a plus, topics such as travels, cultures, food, animals, astrology and more are very welcomed.
I am an early-bird kind of person, I love the sun, it recharge me and makes me feel very happy.
Something else that makes me feel happy are animals and I believe sometimes we should take a step back, watch them, understand them and eventually learn from them.
I will never forget the time I saw an elephant for the first time in my life, it was breathtaking and I can't describe the emotions I felt.

Since I was a child I have always had a passion for languages which led me to study some: I can speak fluent Italian ( mother tongue ), English, Spanish and with a bit of practice I can speak German.

I worked in hospitality for 10 years and I had the opportunity to grow professionally. The restaurant world taught me many things such as being supportive and motivate the group, listen to other's needs, deal with difficult situation and being calm and patience.
I like to work in an organised environment.

I have a good amount of experience with dogs, in Italy my family and I always had a furry friend next to us.
I am good with children, the best part for me is to play with them.
I love to take care of gardens and plants, sometimes it might be a hard work but I really don't mind to get my hands dirty, actually it helps me to relax and to disconnect from busy life.

In the kitchen I really give space to my creativity, but I am not great at that!

What else ...

Every day I give myself some time to stop for a moment and practice some yoga. I am actually going to take a course in Indonesia in June because I realised how this practice helps me in many aspects.
I really enjoy taking photos, mainly to subjects such as the nature and my dog, I actually created an Instagram account for him! :)
Singing and dancing are both my passions!

I am very interested in learning more about animals in their natural habitat, and also how everyone in the world can help to protect some species.
I am also interested in learning more about farming and gardening, I would love to learn more about being eco-friendly and what we can do in order to be more responsible and caring of Mother Nature
