Hello! We are Dick (38) and Marijke (36) from the Netherlands. In 2026 we are taking some time off work, (4 months, March - June) and we would like to spend a few months in the Azores.
Three years ago we've been on holiday there and have visited the islands Sao Miguel, Pico, Sao George, Faial and Terceira in a couple of weeks, and fell in love with the beautiful islands and friendly people.
This year we want to really experience the Azorean lifestyle.
We are looking for (volunteer)work to participate in while we are there. This could be an organisation that could use a hand or any kind of project we can contribute to. We are openminded, enthousiastic, handy, motivated and open to learning new skills.

We'd really love to be part of a community.

Skilled with practical tasks and maintenance (such as painting, carpentry, electrical), experienced and reliable in working with children, and a dedicated IT professional. We are very comfortable with animals, especially dogs and horses. We enjoy gardening (not very experienced yet) and outdoor work.

Things we enjoy together: Hiking, dog walking, camping, going out and enjoying city life, friends and family, chocolate.

- Marijke: horseback riding, reading, swimming, bossing Dick around 😉 (shes actually very sweet)
- Dick: home automation and electronics, cars/motorbikes
