Ciao!
We are Giorgia and Francesco, a couple from Italy :)
Almost two years ago, we decided to leave our home country and embark on a journey across Europe to explore new cultures, lifestyles, and ways of living.
Francesco - I’ve been passionate about traveling since I was a kid, but Japan has always been my ultimate dream destination. So, in my mid-twenties, I packed my bags and moved to Kyoto to chase that dream and it turned out to be one of the most incredible, life-changing experiences ever. While studying at a language school, I worked as a rafting guide and bartender, which helped me connect with locals and fully embrace Japanese culture. Unfortunately, after almost two years, the pandemic had other plans for me and I had to return home.
Being back in my small rural hometown led me to discover a new passion—photography and editing, I’m always experimenting with new techniques and love the idea of one day turning this passion into something more.
Giorgia - After working in the tourism industry for several years, I felt the urge to travel abroad, not just for fun, but to experience life in a deeper, more meaningful way.
Languages, art, and nature have always been my greatest inspirations and I feel deeply drawn to creative and innovative projects that revolve around these themes. I was beginning to study gardening and Permaculture/Biodynamic techniques when I moved to Sweden to volunteer at a local CSA, gaining hands-on experience.
I am very creative and love contributing to all kinds of DIY projects, from painting to sewing. I also have experience in social media management, embroidery and mending. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, music, hiking, woodworking and cozy, quiet evenings by the fire crocheting or reading a fantasy book.
I also have a great passion for cooking (you know, wouldn’t want to disappoint the stereotype!), and I love preparing delicious, healthy meals to enjoy in good company.
We love traveling, meeting new people and embracing different cultures and traditions.
For us, the best way to truly experience a place is to live like the locals and we’re always eager to learn something new along the way.
We’ve been using Workaway for almost two years now and we really love it! It’s given us the chance to travel often, connect with amazing people and be part of incredible projects, leading experiences we never would have had otherwise.
Looking forward to meeting you! 😊Interests

More details about your skills
We’re both open-minded, curious, and always excited to learn new skills.
During our travels and previously in our lives, we participated in all kinds of projects, whether it’s DIY, carpentry, gardening, or creative tasks like art projects. We’re also comfortable with social media and online work, and we have experience using various power tools, which makes hands-on jobs even more fun for us.
With work experience in different fields, we've become quick learners, allowing us to adapt to many types of tasks. Francesco worked in an SMD assembly company before moving to Japan, where he gained experience as a bartender and rafting guide. He also worked as a bartender in an Irish pub in southern Ireland. Giorgia has worked in various restaurant and tourism businesses in Italy, some in Spain, and also took part in a CSO and permaculture project in Sweden. Additionally, she worked as a cook in the same Irish pub where Francesco was a bartender.
We’ve both lived independently, shared apartments, and been part of communities, so we’re used to keeping spaces clean, helping with chores, and cooking for ourselves.Age
