I'm currently looking for farm stays or eco-projects in Mexico.
Description
I left the UK in April 2022. Since then I've travelled across the Americas, from Peru to Canada. I joined Workaway because I'm interested in exploring alternative, sustainable and community-minded ways of living and travelling.
I love nature and being outdoors, especially hiking, running and wild swimming. I enjoy gardening - growing fruits, herbs and vegetables and I want to learn more about permaculture and sustainable ways of growing. This compliments my other love which is cooking - and eating. I love preparing food for and with others, learning about different cuisines and trying new dishes. I'll try anything, but I mainly eat a vegetarian diet.
I'm a writer and communications specialist, working mainly in arts & culture. Right now, I'm combining travelling and volunteering with my remote, freelance work.
I'm most interested in the eco projects and farm opportunities that Workaway has to offer, and I've already had a few amazing experiences volunteering for projects like these. I've loved being a part of projects that have a strong community around them.
I've been learning Spanish while travelling and I'm keen to improve.
I'm a non-smoker and fully vaccinated against COVID.

I have experience of working in gardens - growing fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers, and some experience of construction (raised beds, garden gates etc.).
I grew up around animals, including horses, and through Workaway I have also gained experience caring for chickens and pigs.
I'm a good cook and love cooking for others, including baking bread and making preserves. I've done some work in professional kitchens.
My professional background is in communications and I have skills in writing, content creation, photography, video making and editing, social media and graphic design. (Only in English.)
I have experience working on community projects - supporting participation and engagement and managing volunteers.
