More details about your skills
My strongest attributes are a willingness to take on any task with enthusiasm and interest and a knack for problem-solving. I love meeting people, learning their stories and more about the ever-intriguing world we live in. I have been blessed to visit 30 countries and I am always eager for more. I am outgoing, easy to work with and comfortable in any situation.
Over the years, I have had small successful home vegetable gardens -- not only to produce food, but also to interact more directly with the Earth. I'm always interested in learning and employing sustainable and efficient planting methods, composting, minimal water usage, etc. On a regular basis, I still attend online and in-person classes to increase my knowledge of plants, animals and other aspects of the natural world.
I am comfortable with tools and willing to learn more. I own my home and enjoy keeping up with the regular maintenance and small projects.
Starting as a youngster in Girl Scouts, I have been involved in community work my entire life. A few examples: Girl Scout Leader; teaching adults to read in the U.S. and small children English in Japan; volunteering at musical festivals, including archival recording and logging of performances (not primary recording production); working on Habitat for Humanity home builds; serving as an officer and director of Earth Charter U.S. and a local community radio station.
I am now retired, but I worked as a paralegal in law firms and corporate legal departments.Age

What else ...
In my mind, staying and working with a local family is the very best way to begin to understand a country and its people.
