I am an open, honest and motivated individual who has just finished a degree in psychology. I would like to pursue a career in horticultural therapy however in the mean time I plan to travel Europe in my camper van taking some time to truly engage in the beauty our planet has to offer indulging in different cultures, food, building friendships, learning new skills and following my passions. In my spare time I enjoy yoga, rock climbing, meditation, swimming, reading, painting, general creating, sewing, dancing, horse riding, listening to music, writing, hiking, being in nature (love love water) and being with friends.
I am growing increasingly passionate towards sustainable living, in particular permaculture and organic gardening, which I have been fortunate enough to carry out in practice at my local community garden, a friends allotment and a local farm. I also grow organically at home in my garden. My current knowledge of organic, permaculture style growing/gardening/farming is basic but increasing every day I am excited to enhance my knowledge in this area. I am incredibly enthusiastic to learn from others and work alongside others to absorb as much knowledge and skills as possible!
In addition I have vast experience with animals from farm animals to pets. This is mainly as I grew up on a farm surrounded by sheep, cattle, chickens, rabbits and the list goes on!! I have got plenty of experience with horses on the ground and riding.
I have a deep passion for horses and riding. I am on a hunt to find a space where riding or being amongst horses is possible. I have a lot of experience with horses, I was put on a horse by my mother before I could walk and until late teens I lived, breathed worked and played horses. I have worked on many yards from liverys to international eventers, successfully competed individually and with pony club and riding club and I have owned my own horse since I can remember. Due to unfortunate family circumstances this lifestyle came to a halt. However I have continued to keep up riding when I have been able to do, although I am a little rusty, I am still very capable on the ground and on horseback and would be back at full speed in no time with a little reassurance. I am really very keen to find somewhere where I could get back in the saddle on a regular basis. Learning new skills such as driving, logging, therapy with horses would also be very cool. Anything I am interested. Horses are just pure healers that smell wonderful! hahahah
I respect and love all animals and I am keen to be surrounded by animals in general and I am more than happy to take on a role that involves animal care of any sort including shovelling poo! ( Strangely a fan )
I am eager to get involved with any building projects and would really love to build some skills in this area as my knowledge and skills in this area are limited.
I have lots of experience working with people, for example children in schools (volunteer role), caring (elderly and disabled), working alongside adults with learning disabilities (volunteer role in the horticultural department of a city farm), volunteering with drug users at a harm reduction centre, one to one tuition (English in Kenya), Educating children of climate change and planting trees (Volunteering Uganda)
Overall I strive to spread kindness and aim to lead a mindful and peaceful life.
I wish to enhance this by diving into the varying culture's of Europe.
Most importantly I am here to share happy times with like minded individuals (and those with other interests and opinions!). To be around fun, relaxed and loving company! Lets laugh together!
Also as i mentioned I will be travelling about in my camper van so I do not necessarily need accommodation I can happily live in her! (this does mean is I would require somewhere to park her up. )
