Description

I’m Eva (31) and I meander between teaching, making theatre and exploring nature. I studied literature and education (Antwerp) and theatre (Maastricht). The last couple of years I worked passionately as a teacher (Dutch, Dutch to non-native speakers and theatre), in secondary schools and as a freaalance theatre teacher for all ages (from toddlers to adults).

I have experience as a director of theatre performances. In her theatre, she creates a place where connection between actors can occur, by bringing together people from diverse backgrounds. In one of her performances, she worked with young people and people aged 70

In my most recent project Ver/Veld (far/field), I seek the link between education, nature and art, outside the walls of schools and rehearsal spaces. Ver/veld are workshop weekends for adults that I organise with two colleagues, to achieve creativity in nature: they run workshops in writing, theatre, wild picking, yoga, dance, etc. The focus is on stillness and connection. Besides giving the workshop, this also requires organisation of meals, sleeping place, furnishing. By doing everything themselves, we learn a lot and everything fits completely into the picture of stillness.

After years of teaching, I’m glad to take this year of to travel, explore and lear new skills in new environments.

I have experience in working as a teacher (Dutch and theatre) and theatre director. I worked in schools with children of all ages, but am most experienced in working with teenagers. I organised artistic and yoga events (for my own organisation): here I both gave workshops and was in charge for logistic, sometimes cooking, scheduling,..

I have skills in cooking (and look forward to explore more and other cuisines,..) and baking sourdough bread.
I have experience in practicing yoga and meditation (on my own, in classes and in a vipassana (Sri Lanka).
I have basic knowledge in wild foraging.

I have a huge interest in all art forms.
But I look most forward this year to explore other domains and learn new skills. I like to live more like a child: with curiosity, trial and error.
