Ciao, my name is Emma. I’m 26 years old and Italian, although I’ve been living in Belgium for two years. The cold and lack of sunshine were starting to bring down my mood, so I decided to embark on a trip to Central America that will last a few months (money permitting :) ). I’m used to traveling and getting involved in projects and volunteering because it makes the journey more meaningful. I’m a very flexible, curious, and cheerful person who loves to chat over a beer or play a board game (I love them!). I like to think that my experience will be enriched by all the people I meet and their stories, and that I’ll have experiences that push me a little outside my comfort zone, helping me discover new parts of myself.

I am a social worker, so I have experience working with people of different ages and cultures, and I’m used to working in teams. In my various roles as a social worker, I have engaged in all kinds of activities—artistic, musical, gardening, etc.—always aimed at promoting the well-being of individuals and creating an inclusive community.
I have experience in group activities, but I especially enjoy working with children, preferably outdoors. I enjoy cooking, and I’m used to doing it for large families (mine and also the Au pair family) and groups of hungry housemates!
I am fluent in Italian (my native language), English, and French, and I’m currently learning Spanish. I’m interested in agriculture (especially permaculture projects) and in learning about the plants and animals of the place where I am.

What else ...

I love to sing and dance... now more than ever to reggaeton and salsa! I enjoy watching the same Disney cartoons a thousand times and spending Sundays playing Catan or 7 Wonders.
I need to be in nature, and if you ask me whether I prefer the sea or the mountains, it really puts me in a dilemma!
