Description
Hey there, I'm Emma!
I took took a gap year where I discovered how volunteering works.
I was in Romania helping on two farms and in an architect's bureau. After that my way brought me to Norway, first volunteering at a bird observatory counting on sea migration and helping with bird ringing, and afterwards organising program and taking guests on hikes in a hostel in Bergen.
Those are experiences I am very grateful for.
Now I am studying biology in the Netherlands. As much as I enjoying the learning process, I also want to continue volunteering from time to time.
Being busy with studying I even more feel the urge to discover more, go to places I haven't been before, go in nature and mountains (sadly there are not too many of them here in NL :)), spending time with animals or just get a little inside in other peoples everyday life.
As much as I enjoy big adventures and full days, I worship little moments and silence.
I would be happy to get to know more of this world and to learn, listen and connect.Interests

• animal care, training with horses and dogs - at home I cared for a horse; in Romania I looked for about 30 horses and 5 dogs together with another volunteer. I would like to learn more about animal care, training and treatment. An respectful and trustful relationship to the animal is essential to me.
• biology, sustainability, ecology - as a starting biology student this is one of my main interests. As I am familiar with the theory and started gaining practical experience during my gap year, I would love to deepen this (especially environment, animal or sustainability related projects).
• crafting and building - I have some basic understanding of how things work, especially after helping in an architect's office. I learn fast and can find out how things (should) work when looking long enough at them. Gaining more practical understanding would be great.
• social work, hospitality - I am a certified youth leader, volunteering at organising outdoor summer camps with hikes and workshops for children and teenager. Teamwork, taking over responsibility and a good communication plays a big role here. In the hostel in Norway activity planing and taking groups on hikes were essential as well. Here I got more experience in taking care of guests and built an understanding for hospitality and tourism.Age
