Hi there!

We are Chris and Em. We are new to Workaway and really excited about undertaking our first adventure later this year.

For us, Workaway is about meeting new people and seeing new places, sharing experiences and contributing to someone else's lives.

We've spent the last couple of years working in hospitality, running a ski chalet in the winter then leading hiking and biking tours in the summer. In the chalet, I do all the cooking (breakfast and 4 course dinner each day) and Chris does everything else! Prior to that we were teachers, me at a secondary school and Chris at a primary school. Before that, we worked in research.

We love being outside and most of our hobbies and interests reflect this- running, hiking, climbing, skiing, paddling, snowboarding... the list goes on. We love being part of nature and in the past have kept animals and grown vegetables at home. We really enjoy making and building things- we renovated our house which included a new roof, walls, window, electrics, kitchen and bathroom. We're both pretty handy around the home now. Chris is a self-confessed geek and is great at all kinds of technology. We're both computer-savvy. We have both grown up with music and enjoy playing. Chris plays saxophone, piano and guitar. I play piano, violin and I'm learning the bass.

We like to learn and a big part of our motivation for joining Workaway is to learn French. I've been doing what I can from an app, but nothing can compare to living, breathing and conversing in French in a French-speaking country.
