Our experience in Brian’s house was awsome. Brian is very nice, he receive us very well, taking his time to know us more and explain the things to do in LA.
He lives with his mother, she’s very cute and kind.

It was a wonderful experience. This is a very beautiful place where we can rest and connect with nature and ourselves.

Cocchauasi was a great experience with the animals, we were really happy to learn how to take care of animals.
We’ve create a strong relationship with the veterinarian, Nubia, a person really nice and in love with animals.
We’ve invested ourselves a lot in this center because we wanted to help the cause of these animals (rescued, mistreated,… read more abandoned).
The only negative point in this experience was the personal of the center : when we arrived, the first minute, we started to work with animals, we had been presented just with the doctor and Albert, who is supposed to be in charge of the volunteers. In reality, the only person who took care of us was Nubia, the doctor.
The experience consisted in : taking care of animals (clean the boxes and give them food and making guides for visits). The house of volunteers was comfortable but just 1 shower for a lot of volunteers (sometimes 8). Only the lunch is offered, no internet (just in the sanctuary until 6 pm).
When we arrived, the personal team is not really welcoming (no smile, no “hello”). Then, we didn’t know how to do, so we asked a lot and we had the idea to create “the book of the volunteer” to help volunteers when they arrive here. So we made this book with all the organisation of the work with animals, all the names of the team and a chapter of “the rules of the house for volunteers” (asked by the personal of the center). We traduced that in French, Spanish and English.
When we finish this book, the Albert’s wife, Evelin, wanted to add more rules like “no internet during the work”, “6 hours of work per day” and more.
We were disappointed because after 2 weeks of work (with all our heart and soul), Evelin took the wifi and we couldn’t have WiFi for the last days.
Moreover, during the visits with tourists, we explain the story about the “coatis coffee” but we never taste this coffee because it’s really expensive (10 soles). One day, a tourist offered to me this coffee, and I was really disappointed because it seemed as hot water with a little savor of coffee !
So globally, we are happy to have made this experience because animals were really cute and the cause of this center enter in our philosophy, and we had a very good experience with the doctor and the volunteers’s team, but we were hurt by the behavior and the consideration of the personal team.
So we had a discussion with Albert to express our disappointment, we hope they can improve the welcoming and the relationship with volunteers.

Cocchauasi fue una buena experiencia con los animales, estábamos muy felices de aprender cómo cuidar a los animales.
Hemos creado una fuerte relación con la veterinaria, Nubia, una persona muy agradable y enamorada de los animales.
Nos hemos investido mucho en este centro porque queríamos ayudar a la causa de estos animales (rescatados, maltratados, abandonados).
El único punto negativo de esta experiencia fue el personal del centro: cuando llegamos, en el primer minuto, comenzamos a trabajar con animales, nos presentaron con la Veterinaria y Albert, quien se supone que está a cargo de los voluntarios. En realidad, la única persona que nos cuidó fue Nubia, la veterinaria.
La experiencia consistió en: cuidar a los animales (limpiar las jaulas y darles comida y hacer guías para las visitas). La casa de voluntarios fue cómoda, pero solo 1 ducha para muchos voluntarios (a veces 8). Solo se ofrece el almuerzo (y cuando quieres más, te sientes mal venido), no hay internet (solo en el santuario hasta las 6 de la tarde).
Cuando llegamos, el personal no es realmente acogedor (sin sonreír, no "hola"). Entonces, no sabíamos cómo hacerlo, así que pedimos mucho y tuvimos la idea de crear "el libro del voluntario" para ayudar a los voluntarios cuando llegan aquí. Así que hicimos este libro con toda la organización del trabajo con los animales, todos los nombres del equipo y un capítulo de "las reglas de la casa para voluntarios" (preguntado por el personal del centro). Lo traducimos en francés, español e inglés.
Cuando terminamos este libro, la esposa de Albert, Evelin (hija de la dueña) quería agregar más reglas como "no internet durante el trabajo", "6 horas de trabajo por día" y más.
Nos sentimos muy decepcionados porque después de 2 semanas de trabajo (con todo nuestro corazón y alma), Evelin tomó el wifi y no pudimos tener WiFi en los últimos días.
Además, durante las visitas con los turistas, explicamos la historia del "café coatis", pero nunca probamos este café porque es muy caro (10 soles). Un día, un turista me ofreció este café, y me decepcionó mucho porque parecía agua caliente con un poco de sabor al café.
Así que globalmente, estamos felices de haber hecho esta experiencia porque los animales eran realmente lindos y la causa de este centro se inscribe en nuestra filosofía, y tuvimos una muy buena experiencia con la veterinaria y el equipo de los voluntarios, pero nos sentimos heridos por el comportamiento y la consideración del personal.
Así que tuvimos una discusión con Albert para expresar nuestra decepción, esperamos que puedan mejorar la acogida y la relación con los voluntarios.

It was a great experience here in the villa pastor. Los dueños are very nice with us. They respect all the workaway rules and moreover they offer us the dinner sometimes, we had a good evening with them and their family.

Our experience in Rita’s house was awesome. She’s really nice, at the first she didn’t have place for a long time stay (because she had already 5 workawayers), but she accepted to receive us for a couple of days.
