Description

I'm a 26 year old English guy travelling the world to learn about new cultures and meet people from all different walks of life. I love to volunteer on any project where we can exchange cultures and learn from each others life experiences. I have a variety of different volunteering experience from hostel work, permaculture projects, organic farming and English teaching.

I quit my job in 2020 to live a more grounded life, visit new places and surround myself with different cultures and new experiences. I have spent the past three years travelling through Europe, North America, Central America and South America combining volunteering with travelling as a way to prolong my trip and really immerse myself in local cultures. I am now travelling through Asia looking for new projects and hopefully meeting more cool people!

I love all things active and outdoors (hiking, climbing & yoga in particular), I like to socialise and I'm always keen to try new things. I love meeting new people and building lasting connections with those I meet along the way, however I am also very independent and enjoy spending time in my own company too.

I have lots of experience working/volunteering on a variety of different projects, particularly in hostels and doing general DIY/maintenance around farms and homesteads. I have worked as a bartender and receptionist at hostels throughout my time travelling so understand the running of hostels and the importance of making guests feel comfortable and happy!

Through previous workaways I have developed a variety of different farming & gardening skills, e.g animal care, weeding, preparing soil, planting and picking organic vegetables, preparing vegetables for market, making compost. I’ve also learnt skills needed for more general maintenance tasks: woodwork (building chicken coops and compost bins), painting, cutting trees, clearing fields, putting up shelves, glass cutting.

I also have lots of experience of cooking and cleaning and I’m more than happy to do any housework that’s required. I’m a fast learner and really keen to learn new skills so I’d love to help out with whatever tasks need completing, no matter how big or small!
