Hi everyone! My name is Ilse and am currently travelling around New Zealand until end of March with my trusty (camper)van Vietna.

I love going on little side quests to roadside attractions, being out in nature, doing a walking tour, going hiking, activities where you do something, and meeting people from all over the world. I also enjoy playing board games or learning new card games. Recently, a good friend taught me the Brazilian card game escupa but I'm also happy to teach the one or two Dutch card games I know.

People would describe me as fun, easygoing, unique - I promise in a good way -, hands on and curious. I am independent and don't mind getting my hands dirty or learning new skills.

Growing up with people around from a variety of cultures, I've always found it fascinating to learn more about them. So, if anyone out there is able to help me turn my two-word phrases of Turkish or Mandarin into a very basic conversationational listening skills, and my Spanish and German conversational listening skills into being able to hold a simple conversation; let me know!

As someone that always wants to learn new things and challenge myself in my soft or technical skills, I've always tried to improve upon myself. I'm always open to new things.

With a degree in Mechatronics, I am handy in combination with insight in how to build stuff. I find analyzing and puzzling stuff out fun and enjoyable.

When I have the time I enjoy baking or cooking things from a variety of cuisines.

By working in the outdoor recreation sector in my village, I've learned to grow confident in guiding groups as large as 40 people at a time through a series of games and activities. In doing so, you learn how to navigate situations on the spot, be patient in giving instructions (and sometimes repeat something several times), and become better in giving concise instructions.

Whilst I am adventurous and want to meet a variety of people, I am a bit more of a homebody that likes spending quality time (doing activities or playing board games together) over going out and partying.

I enjoy being outside and exploring a city or wooded area.
