Description

We met as expats in Shanghai, immediately bonding over our love for travel. Travel is what brings us joy in life. Over the past three years, we've been lucky enough to see various parts of the world, including each other's homes - Australia and England. We both share a love for animals and are passionate about environmental initiatives, always actively keeping each other in check, eating vegetarian diets and minimising our wastefulness. This year, we're looking for a more unique travel experience, hence joining WorkAway. We want to meet people with inspirational visions and stories to tell. Learning from others is invaluable and we think being able to work with like-minded people will help us build our skills. We're fully aware that our ability to travel is a privilege and would love the opportunity to give back to the communities and nature that we call our temporary homes.

If we had to describe ourselves briefly;
Danny is kind-hearted, generous person with a passion for geography, sports and creating Youtube content for his travel channel.
Tash is an enthusiastic social butterfly who loves making genuine connections, photography and getting creative in the kitchen (vegetarian).

Tash is bilingual and is very interested in learning new languages, having studied French in University and Chinese for 3 years whilst living there. Danny is an English native speaker and currently learning Russian under Tash's guidance. We are both interested in picking up new languages in every country we go to.

What else ...

Danny: I studied Geography and have always loved learning about the people and landscapes of places I visit (on a nerdy scale). I've got a knack for retaining general knowledge so I often whip out random trivia, which is why I love a pub quiz. I grew up playing golf with my dad and I always try to find places to get a round in when I travel. I'm also extremely passionate about watching and playing football which means I love getting involved in kickabouts and talking about recent and historic games over a beer.

Tash: I find myself interested in new things all the time, which is also the reason why my career choices have varied so much since I finished school. I'm a big nature junkie - I love to be in the ocean, hiking or just sitting in the grass. I learnt to snowboard in the past few years and have recently picked up surfing. What's always stayed consistent is my love for gardening and cooking. I also enjoy exploring my creative side, sometimes making pottery, other times painting. As an avid traveller, photography is something I've always enjoyed but have recently invested in a good camera and am looking to take portrait photos of the people I meet on the road, sharing their stories on Instagram.
